  1. Sorry, I was going off the predecessor model, ignore me
  2. Thought they were the full 500w into 4 ohm?
  3. Did a vanity Google to find someone's MySpace page where they claimed to have played drums with our band on many occasions. Naturally none of us had heard of him. He lived hundreds of miles away. If we were in any way famous, or even 'Threatin' famous, I could understand. But we are literally Dog and Duck. And I don't even mean headlining the Dog and Duck.
  4. Yes, yes, yes, maybe a bit, both
  5. Also, there's Private Eye classifieds: http://www.eyeads.co.uk/
  6. I'd be all over this if it included a pocket
  7. You don't say how old you are, but for under-16s there's an interest-free loan scheme which bassdirect take part in: https://takeitaway.org.uk/ Otherwise, you're down to one of the following: * Bank loan / other credit * Sell a lot of / some expensive stuff * Upgrade your current bass, one piece at a time * Accept that it's a long-term (10+ years) goal and start saving. * Train in financial services, law or data analysis, then get a high-paid job and go buy the bass for cash. In your Ferrari. In all seriousness, it's way cooler to see someone who can really play on a ghetto instrument than it is to watch someone get by on an expensive one. Some of my favourite musicians make a point of spending as little as possible on their instruments.
  8. Brilliant! Can I suggest a warming-pan banjo next? Dare you to take it down the guitar shop and ask them to do a set-up on it.
  9. Did you go for the optional keyboard?
  10. Back on sale at £350 owing to unexpected £350 bill. I am at your collective mercy ...
  11. Anyone else read that as 'get back to me, Pie a*se'?
  12. Nirvana supporting Tad, Portsmouth Poly students’ union, October 1989.
  13. I can do you everything bar the modest cost thing ...
  14. Yep, did, thanks
  15. I reckon the Squiers are pretty good for the money. Like the more expensive Fender models, they benefit greatly from bridge replacement and lighter strings than the stock ones. It's a thing for the experimental player for sure, and if you're looking to use as a bari the 30in scale makes it harder to find suitable strings. But totally do it, yeah.
  16. Reckon they’ll raise prices to compensate?
  17. Not really a challenge for me, unfortunately ...
  18. Recorder players who keep pet mice are also warned to be vigilant
  19. Is it time for an ‘ageing bass players in gig bags’ thread?
  20. Could someone explain to the ignorant dunderheads out here what this actually is in simple terms? Multi FX? Plugin-type-thing? Preamp?
  21. Do tell
  22. I’d be all over that if it was a five-string
