Blimey, could have cried. Have a Stingray which is a gorgeous bass but this felt a world apart. Beautiful smooth neck, tone was powerful, I felt in charge. Had to wrestle with the mids on my TH500 but they made friends eventually. Had the Ibanez version 5 years ago which I loved but ultimately I guess you get what you pay for?

I have a spectorcore fretless which is one of the best basses I have ever played. Have three Spectors, love them all.

It was Mirfield in Yorkshire and we got a really good reception.

Great fun, big stage, big PA, big crowd. Found myself concentrating more on my backing vocals than my bass playing though which was a new thing. Fold back was strange, just loads of bass but was well rehearsed so ok. Can't wait for the next!

If you can get a second hand tokai or aria that would be a good start and not too expensive
