1. Just received an EH microsynth from Paulo. Everything went very smoothly: great comms, packaging, condition ... no problems at all. I wouldn't hesitate to deal again with Paulo and I'd recommend him to you.
2. Just bought Faiz's GT10B. All went as smooth as could be, comms were great and it was sent promptly and arrived quickly with everything as described. No problems at all. I'd not hesitate to deal with Faiz again. Thanks Faiz.
3. Just bought a mixer from Ade - super smooth transaction, fast comms, fast dispatch and excellent packaging. No problems at all - fully recommended. Thanks
4. Love them both and Purple come to that. Maybe it's my age. +1 Bluejay
5. The name "dominant 7" comes from it being formed by adding the 7th to the major triad built on the dominant (5th) note in a scale. So in the key of F major the dominant (5th) is C and a 7th above C is Bb. I think so anyway!!
6. I have a VM Jazz and agree it's a good instrument. I think you can tell that cost savings have been made though e.g. the tuners are perfectly functional but aren't the smoothest, the plating on the screws isn't too hot and a couple of mine are showing rust. But it plays well and is as quiet as a mouse. Worth the money.
7. Just bought a nice bass from Adrian, no problems at all. Thanks Adrian
8. I read somewhere that 24 frets can restrict the positioning of the pickups on a guitar but basses don't tend to have pickups that far up the strings - it probably affects the design of the body though, access is needed to those frets.
9. MrMatchmaker here! This chap would like an orange BB414: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/166980-wanted-yamaha-bb414-orange-only
10. If the forum software doesn't yet support limiting avatar size, maybe any large ones which are spotted could be reported by PM to an admin who could then have a quiet word with the owner.
11. +1 for Bod2's suggestion - I recently had a buzzing problem and after much fiddling it was a brick PSU which was the cause - replace the brick and everything was as quiet as a mouse.
12. When buying new you tend to get the power lead supplied so I would expect the same when buying second-hand.
13. Sack truck for me too - it also comes in handy for non music related duties.
14.
Replies typically follow the following response anyway: a ) agree b ) disagree (based on a set of assumptions that are either valid or invalid) c ) need more context d ) don't give a sh*t
And I've learnt a lot from all types of reply, more than I could have learned from a number. Long live the written reply
15. I think that if somebody disagrees with something said on the forum then they should post a response saying this and explaining why they disagree. It is not much help to the reader seeing that one or more disagree without any explanation why. Also, I find the idea of these buttons rather distracting to my enjoyment of the forum.

Theme Change?
in the bottom left there is an icon that says change theme click this and select "basschat" and it will go back
Phew, thank you ... I had come over all funny
17. Buy it now for just over half price, free delivery: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SOUNDBLOX-MULTIWAVE-DISTORTION-PRO-PEDAL-/280759114216?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item415e8c19e8#ht_698wt_1189 Seems like a good price if you're looking for one.
18. Great points above. I'd also be careful about stepping outside what you have prepared unless you are confident you can pull it off. We've recently been auditioning singers and some have been quite happy to have a go at anything which has not always been to their advantage. While it shows enthusiasm and flexibility, if the results aren't good then it is hard not to remember.
19. Am I too late to recommend OBBM?!
20. Yes, only for effects. The m9 or m13 would do me if they had the dual signal routes but it sounds like the HD500 is a definite possibility. I just need to try one out with my ears Thanks again everybody.
21. Thanks everybody for your feedback Finbar: I'm mainly interested in whether the effects have been tailored to guitar or if they still sound good with bass. My concern has been that the former may be the case since Line 6 make no mention of the HD series use with bass. Fenderbassist24: The sounds I like best tend to have some dry signal mixed back into them which I don't think you can do with the m13 alone.
22. Has anybody any experience of the Line 6 HD series of multi-effects using bass? I find it useful to blend in some less effected signal so the dual signal paths available in the HD500 look to overcome the limitations (for me) of the M9 / M13. Line 6 don't really mention much about bass for the HD series and so, if it isn't suitable, I'm not sure what they offer the bass player these days.
23. Just bought a small mixer from carlsim - trouble free and well packaged - thank you
24. One feature which I've found immensely useful (particularly when using fuzz & distortions)) is being able to blend some dry signal into the output. Not all multi effect pedals can do this so if you think this will be important for you then make sure it's there in whatever you choose. This feature is available directly in the Line 6 Bass PODxt and in the Boss GT10b and Line 6 HD500 through the use of the dual effects routes (the latter is not strictly a bass pedal). It could be available in other multi effects - I don't know. It is the lack of this feature which has put me off things such as the M9 and M13 which otherwise look fantastic.
