1.
Does this thread again illustrates the argument in favour of restricting the market place to more experienced members?
I'm not sure experience is the key. I'm a relative newbie here but I like to think I consider the reader when I post.
2. An example of the usefulness of punctuation (or the trouble caused by not using it).

4.
There are some blues jams around locally. I think they are called Stans Jams Blues Jam Good starting point maybe?
Thanks Jerry, I'll look into that.
5. Thanks for the suggestion John - I'll look out for something in my area.
6. Thanks Jerry, I see from your site that you've got some dates coming up in Bournemouth - I shall try to make it to one. Great site by the way. Kev.
7. Hi BottomE, thanks for the offer. I'm still pretty much a novice on bass so stepping in for gigs at short notice is probably (almost certainly!) beyond me at the moment. I hope to practise more with others to help improve to a gigging level. Thanks again for the offer.
8. Hi, I've recently taken up bass after many years playing guitar. I play with some mates once a month and I'd like to play with others a bit more frequently. I also play drums and saxophone (alto & tenor) but am primarily looking to play bass and improve. I have my own gear, transport etc. and I'm quite happy to play all types of music. I'm also happy to gig if you want but gigging isn't a necessity. I live in the Poole area so anywhere not too far away would be great including Bournemouth and other areas of south-east Dorset. Hope to hear from you, Kev.

Hi All

Hi, another newbie here! I've just started playing bass after many years of playing other instruments. Reasons for changing? I thought I'd give it a try since none of the others I play with wanted to and we really need a bass. But more fool the others - I'm loving this new instrument, it's a whole new dimension to explore and most enjoyable. Many thanks to everybody who has posted on this forum, I've found all your views, opinions and information very helpful and I hope to learn a lot more. I may in time eventually be able to give something back - a lot to learn before that I think! All the best to you all.
