1. Looking at images of the CR 4 / 5's they look the same sized 3/8' shaft.
2. I'd pay 99p for it anyday!
3. I"ve just acquired a NXT and thought I'd try some different strings. The tuner posts are 3/8" and quite fiddly for orchestral strings. I previously owned a CR4 and I don't remember the tuners being so weedy, in fact I had Obligatos fitted. Can anyone with a CR4 / 5 confirm the size of their tuner posts please. Cheers
4. I was just getting to know what to do with which button without my glasses on when Clarky wanted a turn on it.
5. There are loads of cheap ski bags out there if you can't find the real thing.. Bob Gollihur is advertising a hard plastic case which I'm pretty certain is one of these which are around £95
6.
Mine (previously Clarky's) is the older preamp and, although I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, it seems fine. I think I read (probably on Badassbassplayers.com) that the Cool Tube preamp is a direct fit for about $400 if you want to replace it.
Dave, I owned it before Clarky and there was a user guide for the pre amp, did you not get it?
7. I've just acquired another one for you to try next time you're over. It's a NS NXT Hope the show's going well.
8. I was wondering if this bass was originally fretted, as Ebony was the preferred fretless fingerboard, and the backplate states fretboard!!!! Anyway, what do I Know, I only own 3 Wals at present. Have a bump for a great looking bass on me!
9.
Someone snap this up, great little amp and a lot more "pokey" than the 200W would suggest IMHO
+1 Great for upright and fender!
10. That's brill! You could market these for £50!
11. Although not for a lesson Geoff has just been round my place for a social / bass comparison evening and I'd just like to say what a nice chap he is and I really enjoyed listening to him play my basses. Best of luck with the show Geoff, hope to see you in January.
12. This is my favourite amp, I do most of my gigs with this amp and an Epifani UL110 for louder gigs I have the GK MB210 combo but I prefer the sound of the MB200 / Epifani There's a second hand one up for grabs on here, but I just noticed your on the other side of the pond. Go get one buddy, you won't regret it!
13. I've tried / had a few different amps & combo's My main amp at the moment is the GK MB200 which is tiny and sounds great with any cab, there's one for sale on here. Sounds great with upright or fender. for a one handed carry I've got a Genz Benz Shuttle 3 8T which is amazing for it's size, or with an ext cab. both of these amps have aux inputs so if you have a pre amp for your upright, plug that into the aux and put your fender in the front.
14.
If there was anyone out there with a 5 string fretless who would like to trade I would love to discuss...
I've got an 89 mk11 walnut 5 unlined ebony fretless that I might consider trading for a four.
15. Hi Roger, the DPA sounds nice. I've just got round to installing the APTflex on my Hungarian bass. Sounds very natural just like the bass. Only tried it in the house so far, might get to use it next Tuesday
16. Don't know if this has been posted before. Pick Up Comparison
17. Hi folks If there any supporters of Harrogate Jazz & Blues Club interested we are moving to a new venue as from this Tuesday 15th November. We are relocating to balcony, in the grounds of Harrogate Cricket Club. We're dropping the "club' image as we think it might put some shy peeps off coming along. So if you like a bit of jazz, blues, latin or soul and a nice pint of hand pulled come along. It's £3.00 entry, but if you message me I'll put you on the guest list. This Tuesdays line up Frank Brooker - sax, clarinet Kevin James - keys, vox Rich Jevons - guitar Paul Smith - drums Me on't bass Sitter inners welcome
