Mr Bassman

Well I've just reduced the bridge height by about 1/2 " and lowered the nut on the E string and tuned it up but I've had a little accident. Not with the bass but with a breadknife, yes I've sliced a bit of my left hand index finger off while making a sandwich and I've eaten it. So I can't play the bass just yet, at least until the blood stops. Bass sounds good.

Even with the (unknown) supplied strings it sounds better than many more expensive instruments. We tried the bassmax and it sounds promising direct into my AI Ten2 set flat. Anyway I've offered to get my chainsaw out and drop the string height at the bridge and angle grind a bit off the nut

She looks nice, cant wait to meet her in person.

'Tis a shame after all you've put into the two bands. Maybe it's time to put those Bill Evans / Scott Lafaro records on.

You haven't mentioned what amp you will be using. Some amps don't require a buffer pre amp, and some pickups like the bassmax (as fatback mentioned) will work fine without a preamp into something like a markbass or GK
