3. The CR 4 M has mag pickup (M = mag) CRT stands for Czech Republic traditional set up ( a.f.a.I.k.)
4. I heard some sad news just now that Lee Abbott died two and a half weeks ago. It was about that time when I was thinking about giving him a call because I hadn't seen him for sometime.

6. I've just been asked about the dimensions of this old bass l.o.b. 42 1/4" upper bout 20 1/2" centre bout 14 1/2" lower bout 25 1/8" ribs 8 1/8" mensure 40 3/4" string spacing at nut 1 3/8" at bridge 3 3/8" I'd say it's set up for arco Strings are mixed set of A & D spiro E & G unsure, would benefit from new strings. There have been usual repairs to cracks and the neck / peg box which all seem sound.
7. Have a word with Artisan He started with Stagg and has moved on to double bass in no time at all! I might have an NXT for sale, can't make my mind up yet
8. Hi Rob happy days
9. It could be Rob Burns I remember him saying he had the first six string Wal In that case it must be earlier than 1995 because mine was made in 1994 after Pete showed me a photo of a prototype, and it wasn't this one for sure.
10. I've taken some pics but the internet is slow and I've got to out soon so I can't upload all of them just now
11. Not had chance to watch it yet, unexpected visitors
12. I've just weighed mine, it's 34.4lbs in the gig bag I'd struggle to carry it far I use a fold up trolley similar to this rather than carry it.
13. A friend of mine has asked me to spread the word about this 1900ish German fatback that he wants to sell. The neck is quite chunky, the fingerboard is painted so I can't say what the wood is, probably rosewood It has a big sound I've got the bass here at my house in Harrogate if anyone would like to see it. [s]£3000[/s] now [s]£2750[/s] now [s]£2500[/s] now £2000
14. I wouldn't fancy taking the Ten 2 in the gig bag + instrument on public transport, it seems quite heavy & bulky to me, but then you're ten years younger than me.
15. Hi Ben, I've never tried the lights would you sell just the G & D? cheers Keith

19. I'd be up for doing something I don't know if 7th April is a good date, I was hoping to tie it in with meeting Bassace but he's travelling up with his band just before his gig at Boston Spa so won't have any spare time.
20.
the Harlow (formally known as The Sheppard's Dog) pub in Harrogate,it's only a fairly small gig but they are usually the most fun.
It's within walking distance for me 15 mins there, 30 mins back
