1. That is THE DON of all basses. We all got owned.
2. Hi mate, Loving the Streamer, and the JBitsa has seen little play but those plastic flats are great! I was thumping out Aretha Franklin's "think" the other day and the jazz strung with those plastic flatwounds suit it so well! TO be honest, ive neglected all my other basses except maybe my Streamer LX since I got the Stage One, its such a great instrument - its got so many sounds and the pre amp is powerful, and I think ive found the sound I like most out of it. Its amazed me how very different the four string Stage One is to the 5 string version (which ive previously owned) - its a totally different beast!
3. More Mojo than Austin Powers on viagra. Love it!
4. THat Peavey Rig is identical to the old Peavey rig I used a few years back - heavy, but cracking set up, never gave me a hint of grief. Cab looks the same too! Nice Rig there mate.
5. Damn right there's desperation !!! Ive been looking for one of these Tech cabs for ages but they are rare as hens teeth over here and I didnt fancy importing one from germany, so as soon as I saw this I wanted to make sure that I can buy it! FOr some crap reason my browser isnt letting me go into PM - whenever I hit the "send message" button for whynot, it crashes the browser so until I get back onto my home PC tomorrow I cant send any PM's. whynot, ill PM you with details for the sale as soon as I can, probably tomorrow. I hope this is still available!
6. Im after one of these, ill have it - im trying to send you a PM but my browser keeps crashing, so long as its still available I have the cash ready and waiting, so ill take it!!
7. Ok, ive taken myself outside and given myself a good talking to, and the Warwick is no longer jealous. Its sitting happily alongside my Streamer LX5 and two 4 string Jazz Basses, and a fretless Ibanez Gary Willis 5. I believe this particular Streamer Stage 1 is a 2000 model, and it is in great condition - came with a hard "soft" case, a tin of wax, truss rod adjuster and a brass nut to replace the plastic just-a-nut that came fitted. Im in love with this bass now, it plays like a dream and sounds fantastic!
8. Hi Guys, Played a gig on thursday night with the natalie band, showing off some new material from the 2nd album - what a shocker it turned out to be! We played so badly by our standards, I was having a bad night, as was the guitarist who started a solo in the wrong key!!! Anyway, the other bands where so unbelievably crap we managed to look half decent in comparison - only the headline band where decent, the other acts where quite shocking and sounded like they had gone to argos and bought thier gear along with a "how to play guitar in 10 mins" book prior to going on stage. It was also the first time I had gigged my nice new Warwick Streamer Stage One, traded with BassBod (who happens to be a top fella) for my custom Preicion bass that I never played. The warwick is loaded with EMG's and the Aguilar 2 band circuit, and it sounded immense thru a tiny SWR cube amp (not sure what model). Filled the relatively small room and im going to have lots of fun with this baby! Here's some pics - the look on my face is classic!: The pics dont really show off the bass, ill sort some out that do it justice soon. It has a lovely flamed body and the neck is sublime!
9. DONT DO IT! DONT DO IT! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, just thought I would tell you that you dont need another bass, and you will regret selling the POD once it has gone.
10. Theres nout wrong with having multiple Warwicks - I LOVE the sounds I get from my Streamer LX 5 and am GASsing like mad for a Streamer Stage One like this...
11. Hi there fellow Low Enders, I have recently come to the conclusion that I do not like the precision sound, favouring my Jazz Basses and Warwick Streamer LX5 over it. I have here a handbuilt Precision bass that I had made by John at Bravewood guitars (www.bravewoodguitars.co.uk) around 4 years ago now, to my specs. Here she is: There is also a review on the bravewood website from when I first got it, shown with the original black pickguard I changed as I thought the Torty looked better. Specs: Maple neck & alder body finished in Olympic white, with Nitrocellulose finish (for that vintage vibe) Schaller Vintage Tuners 3-ply tort/white/tort guard CTS Pots and controls Seymour Duncan 1/4er £er pickup Badass II bridge Elixir Nanoweb Strings .045 to .100 Jim Dunlop Recessed Straplocks What Im interested in: - Marcus Miller Jazz Bass - Vintage (preferably 70's style) Fender Jazz Bass with Block inlays - TechAmp or Tech Soundsystems 6x10 Lightweight Bass Cab - Warwick Streamer Stage One Not really looking to sell, would prefer to trade for the right bass. PM Me!
12. Just as a quick mention - I have the AKG WMS400 wireless and it is a fantastic bit of kit - no low end loss and handles my low B string on my warwick with ease, and as mentione dpreviously there doesnt appear to be any noticeable low end loss. Also has a very good range, not sure exaclty how much but ive walked off stage and to the back of the room for soundchecking and it never cuts out or anything, best wireless ive had. Never had any crosstalk either.
13. How does that LCD TV sound with the Jazz Bass? Does it hinder playability at all?
14. Bugger me sideways - that is IMMENSE. Love the Binding and blocks!
15. Id like a J-Retro in my Jazz but I cant afford it this side of xmas im afraid!
16. Whats the finish on the body/neck? Polyurethane or Nitro?
17. THose Yammy BB's are killer bassses, Nice pair!
18.
A bit similar to mine Bass pot wound back so that marker is at 12 o clock (facing bass) PUP blend wound back so that marker is at 12 o clock Treble pot marker at 3 o clock Mid frequency at 4 o clock Mid boost at 4 o clock Amp set flat and then I tweak the bass and mid very slightly according to venue and whilst we're posting pics (think I should get a new pickguard actually cos of the gap...)
If you ever want to sell that, can I have first dibs please? That is f***ing loverly!
19. Hi There, My name is Luke Ward and I am a bassist with 6+ years gigging and recording experience. I consider myself to be reliable, friendly and a fast learner, and I am happy with covers and original material. I am compentant with most styles, including Rock, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Ska, R&B and Blues - I can also sing backing vocals if required. I have my own high Quality gear and transport and I am available most evenings and weekends for Dep work and rehearsals. Here are some recordings of tracks I have played on to give you an idea of my abilities: http://media.putfile.com/Natalie-Long---Way-Of-Life - this is a brand new recording with up & coming pop-rock artist Natalie Long http://media.putfile.com/Natalie---You-Wil...-Know-Live-2007 - A Live recording with the Natalie Long band, complete with backing vocals http://media.putfile.com/Natalie---Whatever-Live-2007 - another live recording with the Natalie band, with backing vocals http://media.putfile.com/Bass-Solo-59 - this is a little trippy bass solo recorded a few years ago in my bedroom At present I am looking for paid dep work with covers bands and originals acts in the south east, and if you are fairly local to me I will consider unpaid work if it suits my schedule. Style does not matter, I am very open minded and I can play most things. PM me or call me on 07740 449 495 for a chat!
20. +1000000 Ive played through a couple of thier combos and a few "shared" rigs (ABMs and MAG stacks) and really disliked the sounds I was getting. No punch, no clarity, muddy in places and very "dry" (if that makes sense). Ive never liked the sound of the ashdown rigs, and im yet to hear one i like - plus I heard a lot of bad things about thier reliability in the past and I can honestly say that has put me off ever owning any ashdown gear.
21. I have to say im pretty happy with my current tone - My main rig being a Bas Pod XT into a QSC poweramp, and once I get the cash ill get rid of my current Hartke 410xl and replace it with a Tech 6x10 (top of my current GAS list). With Just the bass Pod and headphones, my Warwick Streamer LX5 seems to sound immense - and last night I stumbled upon a little gem of a sound, I was playing around with my bass pod and decided to "turn off" the amp model I had on one of the patches I set up for it, and it sounded AMAZING. It was essentially the natural sound of the Warwick, but with a little EQ - and all my effects that I can switch on and off at will with the FBV. The Jazz bass sounds good to me but I may consider upgrading to something like a Bacchus or a AtelierZ jazz in the future, but for the time being it suits me just fine for what I use it for. Ultimately, the Warwicks cover pretty much all angles, but there is something about the sound of a slapped Jazz bass that just floats my boat! Im very happy with the sound of my basses and my rig, its as flexible as you like with the gazillion tones the Bass Pod has to offer and I cant see myself ever wanting another amp, simply because I have everything I could possibly want in one rack.
22. Really nice rig, that - very "workmanlike" and professional looking. I bet it sounds huge! Only thing I would say is that your back wont be happy!
23. Im using Elixir Nanoweb Light gauge (.40-.100) on my 4 stringers, and Medium's (.45-.130) on my 5 stringers. The only thing ive found to be a pain in the arris is the lack of a taperwound B String - it is a real struggle to get the Low B string to fit in the bridge peice behind the saddles on my Warwick, but I dont think Elixir make a taperwound B string for the Nanowebs do they?
