Firstly, congrats on the new band, you sound much happier with things which is good to hear. Secondly, Promethean 5110 Combo! I played in a very similar set up, instrument-wise, to yourself for a few years before I left Edinburgh. I used to use a LittleMark250 through an Aguilar GS112 but eventually replaced it with the Promethean which was perfect! It can sound pretty neutral, can do a wide range of tones if you want, it's light as hell, it's tiny, it's very very loud and has a nice DI out, oh and it's about half the price of the Shuttle 6.0 12T Combo. I must add the build quality of the thing is incredible, I was very very pleasantly surprised. Going through the PA is fine as a back up, but there's no substitute for going through a proper bass amp. It provides proper separation between the bass and the rest of the band, you'll have complete control over your sound (and volume) rather than having it ruined by the PA being tweaked to suit the room, something which is very important when gigging smaller venues with an acoustic guitar, to avoid nasty feedback... The common or garden LittleMark has a really nice warm organic tone mate, might be worth checking that out too

As much as the tone appeals to me, I'm not sure if it would be my first choice for heavy rock, especially if you're used to the Ampeg sound. Not sure about the Rocker, however I have heard the the LittleMark Tube sounds almost exactly the same as the regular one. Just my 2p Eude

The key point to make here that this is optional and if you don't want to change anything then you don't have... They've got their heads in the sand.[/quote] To be fair, the man from Ashdown couldn't have looked more nervous, gave a fairly wobbly interview, but you're right they really need to think about how they're marketing this, and it may already be too late! Changeable front panels is the norm with £10 Pay (through the nose) As You Go phones these days, they should just make the colour an option when you order it and that should be the end of it! Why oh why do they not focus on the B&O power section and the fairly obvious high build quality?! The pricing is about right on these, but I fear they won't be in line with the current competition and I doubt they'll be all that popular if it's the tried and tested (read same old) ABM/MAG front end. I really hoped that they would try and do something like this but with the front end from their new Valve series which is apparently the dogs danglers... Oh well. Eude Eude

I'm not sure that seed was planted/helped along by Modulus, but he apparently struggled with the necks of his Stingrays shifting a lot when on tour, probably a combination of how fiercely he attacks his basses and the punishing tour schedules the Chilli's used to do. I know he defo used a Wal for Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which has some of the nicest bass tones ever on it, and an Alembic Epic, I think, for One Hot Minute. Eude

Interesting to see he's getting to use his signature Seymour Duncan pickups and electronics in this bass too, I think the Fender bass was just a compromise too far. I wonder what amazing price point Warwick will pluck out of the sky for this one...
