1.
Ok I'm done. This took a lot longer than I'd hoped, mainly because the idea of remixing my past 12 months' entries and creating a giant mashup of them all wasn't as easy at it first seemed. In fact, it was a gigantic pain in the ass… involving lots of pitching, time-stretching, re-sampling, etc, in order to make everything fit together with any degree of coherence. I ended up starting from scratch with a lot of it, including the drum track. But meh, it was fun. In a self-flagellating kind of way The soundtrack doesn't match the video transitions perfectly, but I had to sacrifice the timing in a few places to make the music work. Anyway, here you go… NB: this track contains one instance of swearing - a m***********, to be precise! - so it's not safe for work or family viewing (that's a heads-up for Lurks, who I know sometimes listens to these tracks with his children). That's me pretty much done until mid-September now (silly season at work), but I'll hopefully have time to sling something together for the start of the 'new season'. Cheers all
Check you out, Jaguar Skolz! Absolutely superb mixing skills.
2. WooHoo!
3.
Hipshot bridge - aesthetic improvement. Sound improvement/sustain; maybe, but not massive
Pun intended? ;-)
4. 'Rosie' OldGit's Ergon The relay bass +1 for Shockwave's old Green Pedulla
5. Can I come please? I'll behave
6.
Hold the low E string at the first and last fret and look at the gap at the 12th fret - should be about 2mm - 3mm - even if its more or less its likely sortable provided you can shift the truss rod nut/screw by a quarter turn or so its probably ok.
Really? I know set ups are a matter of personal taste, but I'd have thought 0.3mm would be more normal for neck relief. BTW, Evil Undead, I've never bought a new bass, and mine have all been fine :-)
7. I reckon 'around the world' must be nearer 20 years old by now? Scary. Anyway, "Hey Ya" by Outkast Just about makes it, if you play it before 9th September :-D
8. OK, cheers. So although it may be a bit overkill for one pedal, it leaves options open for future additions.
9. Ah, but this will be my only pedal...
10. I have a Xerograph on its way to me, and need to find the correct power supply. Taylor said I need to get " the local version of the Visual Sound 1-spot" Is this the one I need? http://www.gak.co.uk/en/visual-sound-1-spot-9v-power-supply/29509?gclid=CIqrqdzch7kCFW_HtAodulYAAQ Thanks, Chris
11.
The email about cashflow made me nervous tho...
Do tell .....
12. Poster for the Green Festival. Don't ask me what 'face panting' is :-D and don't expect to be able to buy meat!
13. Cheers Paul, very sporting :-) I agree, it should end up with a Basschatter. It's only fair ;-)
14. I've thought of one! Multi FX units.
15. I've had a go, I'll submit it tomorrow. I tried to keep it simple and clean, but relevant with the lion and the strings (whiskers)
16. 'Irrational' means with no logical reason. A lot of these are based on "don't like the look/sound/weight" which are perfectly logical reasons.
Non rectangular hard shell cases
That's more like it. That's f***ing bonkers :-D My irrational dislike is when certain people keep creating 'bass guitar' threads in General Discussion grrrrrrrrr
17. Please ignore, sorted now :-)

19. Nice one - this is just the kind of thing I'm after to replace my crackly Rotel amp
20.
Well guys, I've just got off the phone to John "Rhino" Edwards, as most of you are aware, he got involved in the relay and signed the bass. However, he's taken things one step further. He's had a chat with his mates over at Status Graphite, and they've told John that they're up for getting involved. By the sounds of things, Status will be donating one of their fantastic basses, which John (and Status) will get all of the Status endorsers to Sign, before letting us auction it off for CRUK.
:-0 that's incredible news, what a way to raise the profile and earn extra money. Wow!
21. .... a basschatter's nephew He's still at school and I knew he played guitar (as well as bass, mandolin and ukulele) but this is the first recording I've heard, and am impressed by the maturity, playing and dynamics. Thought I'd share... http://soundcloud.com/james-wiseman-4/acoustic-song

23. You won't have these issues with your '69er HJ - recessed handles :-) On the subject of handles and customer service, I was impressed by EA; the leather split on the handle of a combo, and they sent me two replacements free of charge.
24.
If it's a guy in Devon, C E, then yes, be glad
The Colombo in me has worked it out. Thanks for the warning!
