Above all, Fall songs always have great big aggressive growly basslines, Steve Hanley era especially. Last 3 albums gave been really strong, Your future our clutter, particularly. My favourite Fall album changes regularly but then there is quite a few to choose from.
RiP MES.
Mr Gillett came to last years SW bass bash nr Taunton with a car full of his basses. Fine bits of kit they are too.
Hopefully he will be attending this years too (see thread in Events section)?
Trace Elliot v4, Barefaced Vintage 2x15, some pedals, Squier VM P5, Squier VM J5, Musicman Stingray 4, Roland Microbass cube with Headphones.
And owt else that might arrive in the meantime, although am a bit brassic this time of year 😉
Probably essential kit for a working cover band to promote the band brand IMHO.
The cassette style one looks easier to rig than a separate vinyl & stands version? With the logo in the upper portion it can easily be seen above the drummer too. smart.
Played a gig through one of these with 2 matching 8 x3 (?) cabs , mini fridges like in a vertical stack. Was bit "Meh" until I turned it up (on sound mans instructions I hasten to add ) & it began to sing. Very smooth but very powerful, sounded huge despite the titchy speakers, enormous bass response, great bit of kit!
Smart. I got a carpet version V4, had to give up the TE 4x10 though in favour of a barefaced 2x15, my hernias have thanked me ever since!
Top Quality, reliable bombproof gear, GLWTS!
I'm in training to do full justice to the marvellous scran this year!
Whats that you say? Basses & stuff? oh yeah I vaguely remember some thumping & a clanking going on!
Looking forward to it immensely, its in the calendar now!
