Glad to see them bringing back sealed cabs! The Classic series cabs are my favourite. I notice that the 4x10 is smaller than mine though, I'd be interested to hear the difference

I forgot to reply here sorry dudes! I received the pickups in the end. Interestingly the pickup covers are no longer removable like on the other two sets I purchased. They might just be glued on but I'm not brave enough to rip them off just yet! The PBXN I bought was the last one the guy had. I spoke to someone at Entwistle to ask if they had been discontinued and I got told "definitely not". They just don't have enough demand currently to make more but they will be coming back!
-
I thought it was just the plastic covers that were oversized. Couldn't you just buy smaller ones on eBay for a pound and use those?
-
He says he's sent me a replacement. If it arrives and is actually a PBXN, he either forgot to send the original order, or there is more than one left. I'll post here when it comes. Even if they aren't available in any shops, they may still be possible to source. I managed to buy a pair of neodymium humbuckers by going direct to Entwistle

Wrexham Guitars. Guy said if it doesn't turn up today to let him know so I'm just waiting on Mr Postie with my fingers crossed!
-
I bought that "last set" a couple of weeks ago and it never arrived. He says it must have been lost in the post.. Lame
-
No but I got him to stop gigging with a Les Paul which is almost as good!!

I just made my guitarist buy a washburn so I'm guessing yes
That's a little different, you usually have to pay to support major artists, and it would potentially be good exposure, rather than playing a holiday camp in the off-peak season.
My bands support major artists very occasionally. Usually for free or for "ticket deals" that don't make very much. Always make a killing on merch -
Got one with steel saddles from Bass Direct. Lovely bright tone just like the stock steel bridge but with a bit more fullness. Only barely noticeable so doesn't requite any tonal adjustments, Just sounds "better" to my ears. Very solid too, them saddles ain't moving!
-
I'm really struggling to work out what's going on with that bridge
-
I've heard a ric through an all valve head and a neo cab and there is nothing like it
-
I read it as holding down a solid groove. "Aggressive" could either refer to tone/playing style, or just the ability to glare at people and look angry

If there's ever a fee agreed both my bands make sure to get this in writing. Either via email or preferably a signed contract

The Mighty Wraith - Outcast (Official Music Video)
Really awesome sound, love the bass tone on this recording, Congratulations. Love the catchy chorus too, stuck in my head now
Thank you mate that's really cool to hear! I'm honestly so surprised with how well produced the EP was. Guitarist wants the bass louder on the upcoming release though... I'm not joking either -
The Mighty Wraith - Outcast (Official Music Video)
Spot on Chris. Bonus points for the gratuitous Peavey shots
On that note... I forgot to mention that whilst the rhythm guitar was recorded using the Marshall you see in the video, the lead parts were actually tracked using a Peavey 6505 -
Sup dudes It's been a long time since I've created a topic on here, but now that I'm not restricted to a little phone screen I had to take the opportunity to post the first music video I've ever performed in, with my band The Mighty Wraith. It's the title track to our EP released earlier this year called Outcast! I am on bass (obviously!) and backing vocals. For my fellow tone/gear nerds, the majority of my tone came from my Peavey Zodiac BXP fitted with Entwistle PBXN and JBXN pickups, Elixir Stainless Steel strings, Darkglass B3K, and a Sansamp Bass Driver. I'm immensely proud of how it came out. Hope you enjoy it!

Hahaha yes indeed! By the way they have four conductor wiring so they are suitable for coil tapping as well.
They've just announced this lovely beastie - the RBN. Reminds me of an Atelier Z, with the clear scratchplate. Very nice.
I've asked Entwistle to sell me a set of the pickups from this. They said yes (Psst.. they're also neodymium!)

I used to work for a company where one of the directors was called Robin Tombs

Kick on beat one, snare on beat 2, triplets. Definitely 6/8. I feel sorry for the drum teachers students

I really like D'Addarios, they are probably my favourite uncoated strings. They seem to last longer than most that I've tried as well!
