1. You're in prison in some far flung bannana republic, and to win your freedom, the commandant has told you to excecute one of the fellow prisoners he drags from the cells. They are Johnny Borrell,Liam Gallagher, and Axl Rose. He pulls his service revolver from his holster and hands it to you. Sweet liberty is only moments away, until you realise the depths of your jailers sadism. There is only one bullet.....
2. I use Status flats(on my Status).I havn't tried any other brands but I would give them a try as they are cheaper(IIRC)than Roto's.
3. I bought this strap to replace my old leather strap which I found I could not adjust to a comfy position. Build quality. The main body of the strap is neoprene(I believe)which has been filled with a soft foam.Attached to this is(at one end only)a sturdy length of nylon webbing which is adjustable via a metal buckle. The pin ends are made of a heavy duty rubber. All metal fittings are sturdy and finished in black. On the underside there is a small hidden pocket for picks or anything else small you may need to grab whilst playing. Comfort. The strap conforms to the shape of your shoulder readily, and holds the bass in position well.I have only tried it for 30 minutes or so(just so I could adjust the length)but in this small space of time it made my bass feel lighter. I only received the strap today so I cannot comment on its longevity, but it appears sturdy and seems(so far)to do all that it is advertised to. I have not put any photos on,but this item can be viewed on the Bass Direct website.
4. Just ordered a Mono GS1 from Amazon.I'll let you know what it's like soon.
5. Very nice. The grain is superb. Just a quick word to anyone using Danish Oil or similar. The rags can spontaniously combust when scrunched up(I know a decorator it happened to).Best bet is to burn the rags the moment you have finished with them.
6.
This man is my idol. Indeed, he possibly is me - just in a few years time
At last, the answer to that age old question of "who am I?"! I'm someone else! I hope I'm better looking than me,and that I'll pay all my debts off!
7.
If you can't slap you ain't worth a f***
I am not worth a f**k.Although I don't give a f**k . I've got away with playing simple lines for 20 odd years, and as I'm far too lazy to sit down and try to learn my modes I will always be(happily)an average, supportive player!
8. I'm in the writing stage with a new band.We aim to do 6-10 gigs a year, with decent original material at good venues. Or we will just end up drinking beer and telling obscene jokes.
9.
Wow, if it is him get him on here! Funny if it turned out it wasn't a Rick after all...
It is him! He's recording at the moment, and does gigs in the Cobham/Esher area of Surrey with Aluna.
10.
A pretty rare egg, featuring a wonderful daydream of a bassline, perfectly suiting the song's summery meander. The bass player is Peter Giles, briefly of King Crimson, and on a glorious old Rickenbacker - either an early 4001 or more likely a 1999. Enjoy!
If that is the Peter Giles that I know,I shall remind him of this! Peter plays bass in Aluna, and is an entertaining guy. He now uses(IIRC)a 60's Jazz with a Villex tone contrl straight into the PA.
11. Thanks WoT,I really feel like quitting now .

Lets all repeat the bass players mantra;less is more The only time I've seen 3 band eq,multi-pup basses is on videos posted here!
13. You have shown that your level of professionalism is higher than his,and also refrained from calling him a pr*ck with ears. You have admirable restraint, sir!
14. I love it(I'll be watching it again later in a darkened room...... ).
15. A PJ bass and a fretless. And the money to buy them!
16. You can't seem to get many off the peg PJs these days.I'm getting serious GAS for one of these.

18.
25th April 2009. Though it was another bassist so maybe that doesn't count...
I'm only counting mere mortals, not us higher beings
19. Not my usual genre of choice, but really good.
20. When was the last time any of us had an audience member make anycomment about our tone? IMHO you should get a sound that fits the music(but it does'nt stop me trying to find 'that'sound).

Hohner bass

Had a 4 string stick bass for years(but stupidly sold it).Change all the strings in 20 minutes, solid tuning, bypassable actives and a great tone.I would get one if I were you.
