1.
Nice, tight and very big sounding trio. Blue
Thank you Blue! I think my pure filthy tone really helps beef up the sound
2. Sorry I've been a bit quiet recently. Been busy with work! We've recently recorded a new single and I put together a music video for the song. Please check it out and any feedback is always welcome https://youtu.be/WfpOpyfNoY8
3. Played at the Iron Road in Evesham which is one of my favourite places to play. Great little pub with a great sound system and a decent stage. Had the honor of supporting Fury who we're all fans of. The pub also does fantastic burgers so I was nice and fueled up before the gig. Here's a video of one of our new songs from the gig. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZL182XmDBo
4.
Not bad, not bad at all. I'm not hearing the Maiden in there, but your singer is great. If you're ever in the North East and need a support band give Shard Of Ruin a shout! We'd happily do it.
I shall keep that in mind. We're gonna try and play as many new places as possible next year
5. The sync issue may be down to the edit. We had a very tight schedule to stick to and I have noticed a few off spots. Schecter is such a lovely bass to play. My rig weighs so damn much tho
6. Yup. I'm dating the drummer and Dave and Chris are two of my best friends. And we've been friends outside of the band for years
7. Sorry I've not really posted in a while. New job. New singer. New music video so things have been rather all over the place. But I am very happy to announce Khaos Theory have a new singer in the way of Dave. He's been a friend of the band for many years and we've gigged together many times! Please check out the video below and let me know what you think. https://youtu.be/xZcoyKsPauk
8. Only if it compliments the song and it well done. No point having a poor solo that does nothing for the music.
9. We've used them and had quite a bit of airtime on BBCWM as well as a live recorded gig/interview/feature on the main BBC site.

Octaver

I use the EBS octobass and that works great. OC-2 gets a lot of love but I have yet to have the pleasure
11. 450 watt head into a 700 watt cab. Just on about 1/2
12. I've never had any formal lessons. Had a few jams/tip sharing sessions with a few fellow bassists but I would say I'm self taught
13. Is it good for metal?
14. I would go the diy route. I am not the best with a soldering iron but I've changed pups and it's pretty easy
15. Buy another 4x10 at 8ohm. Stack them. 4ohm
16. I don't really use it on it's own but I've not found any volume drops and I've not had any trouble with the knobs. Had an odd issue with one of the jacks but it sorted itself out
17. I find with my Swollen Pickle that I have it set around 3-4 to get unity volume. So lots of headroom should I ever need it
18. I think I'm done for now
19. Was just playing bass this morning and I noticed my tone was off. Checked all the pots were in the right place. Noticed the bass pot was unresponsive. I've taken a look inside and I can't see anything wrong but it's an active EQ so it's a bit of a minefield in there. Any advice on either getting it repaired or replaced? Cheers Mike
20. I could do with another few basses. I don't have a 6 string or a fretless.... Yet
21. I do try to look out into the crowd (if there's one) as much as I can but there are some parts of our set that I have to look at the fret board.
22.
That's good... Can you compare the basic tone with anything? Is it a 'rock' tone for example? Does it resemble the Ampeg amp it's a clone of?
Define a rock tone? It sits rather nice in my hard rock band but it does have a very flexible eq system so I'm sure you could dial in a decent range of tones. I don't think I've ever used the Ampeg version. I've used a few Ampegs in practice rooms and never really been a fan. I wouldn't mind doing an AB test tho. If anyone has the ampeg version locally I'd be up for it
23.
Mikebass, which amp did you get? The all valve one?
Nah just the cheap £100 450w solid state
