  1. Great song, we play it in our 80's tribute band and it goes down a storm
  2. I'm sure that could be re-repaired quite easily by the likes of Howard or someone equally skilled and made to look much more "original"
  3. #jonsmith.... You're correct, it's a latent defect and should be repaired irrespective of warrantee. The exact same thing happened to my RH750, mute went first then hairline cracks found in all. Took it into Real Electronics yesterday as I was passing Sheffield, they replaced them all in about half an hour. They believe there was a "moulding issue" with the originals and so far as they know, the replacements are fine and they've not seen any returned for further replacement. Whilst there they replaced all of the rotary knobs too even though none appeared faulty to me, they said it was just a matter of time before the rubber fins split and the knobs became loose. I'd be more than happy to use real electronics again, great service in my opinion. Rob.
  4. Bass certainly had an influence in the breakdown of my first marriage 12 years ago. We'd been living together 5 years so had all the usuall "wedding gift list" stuff, washers, toasters etc etc so invited cash gifts instead.......I spent a good chunk of it on a '88 Warwick streamer and a new trace elliot rig......things were never quite the same again :-0
  5. I can only say good things about Bass Direct, spent a few grand over the last 6 months on various stuff, I've had a few niggles but he's sorted each one double quick. And he finds some beautiful Overwaters ;-)
  6. Do any of the north east/north west members on here remember or know a player/ tutor called Barry Spence? I know Howard (Bass Doc) does 'cause we talked about him at the recent NE bash, he lived in the coatsworth/saltwell area and hailed from Manchester. I believe he returned to his native land to care for his elderly parents. He was/is a lovely bloke and a really really good player and it would be nice to hear what he's up to these days. Cheers Rob

  10. a black warwick $$ 4 string........woeful
  11. You're very welcome Jack type bump
  12. By a country mile the worst bass I've owned was a 2005 Warwick corvette $$
  13. I used to own this and it's a lovely comfortable weight and perfectly balanced.
  14. P1ss poor John, I'd name and shame them so we all know who to avoid.
  15. Rush Deep Purple Whitesnake (early days) Rainbow
  16. Don't do it.....I have learned at considerable cost that you can't "make" a bass something it's not. Keep looking until you find the one that looks and sounds right.
  17. As I've come to accept over the years, I just don't like P basses.........but that is beautiful
  18. I can honestly say if anyone asked what note that was, I'd have to think about it, I couldn't always say it straight off the cuff, certainly not at the dusty end. I don't read dots and I've never tried writing music, so to me a fretboard isn't an alphabet of notes but more a map of shapes
  19. Pino is an absolute legend who in imho, hasn't looked out of place in anything he's done, I've seen in with the who and it works just fine. But for me he's 80's pop work was just awesome, having recently formed an 80's trib band I've had to learn a handful of his bass lines and believe me, they're s some cleaver stuff going on. I think we all remember the mwah lines with paul young but have another listen to go Go West....the bass lines are fantastic and really what made the tunes
