1. I don't but I'll weigh it this afternoon and let you know, it's not heavy though.
2. First bump for a lovely looking semi acoustic in great condition.
3. Sold sold sold Hi all, sadly this has to go too......its the lightest bass i've owned by a country mile, the neck is slim and fast and its a pleasure to play, one piece maple neck, Spanish cedar body with wenge top and facings. I'm amassing basses like there's no tomorrow and my missus thinks i'm going to open a shop.....:-0 Comes with a hard shell.[s] c[/s]ollected from Newcastle or posted for what ever that costs. Reached my upload limit but loads more pics available. PRICE DROP TO £795
4. Now Sold Bought it brand new in 2011 and a great introduction to Overwaters, anyone who's played one of these will tell you how very close they feel and sound to the hand made ones. Its in 10/10 condition. [s]£375 [/s]collected in Newcastle or posted for what ever that costs. PRICE DROP [s]£350[/s]......NOW £325
5. Took this in a trade last year believing I might serenade the family after dinner.....it has collected dust ever since. Comes with original hard case including keys. Based in Newcastle £270 collected or posted for what ever it costs. Reached upload limit but loads more pics available...
6. Didn't buy any of their stuff but thought Wide Open Space was a great tune.
7. Great thread and very subjective. Do you mean what defines a bass player in particular or a musician in general? Is it a case of what can you play or is it what do you know? And what does "pro" mean? Is that a level of ability as the others perhaps are or does it just mean does it for a living 'cause as we know there are many many sh1t bass players earning fortunes.... I'd say if you can play Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick or YYZ you're good ;-)
8.
What's wrong with the shape?
Good point.....nothing I guess, they just look awkward to me but then again I've never played a full sized one so maybe they're perfectly comfortable.
9. I hear what you're saying and I imagine I would adapt to a violin fairly easily too, just not sure it's the right shape for a 7 year old beginner? Although I guess if you're not accustomed to anything then it possibly isn't an issue at all.
10. Has anyone heard of, come across, seen, played, bought one of these? www.classic25bass.co.uk I'd never heard of them until yesterday yet they're made in my home town. I've got 3 children and would love to get a small bass so they could try it out but surely there couldn't be a more awkward shape bass to start off on?
11. +1 for No Parlez - Paul Young.....Pino at his best Anything by Rush....it's all amazing And although not really considered as a technical type player, Welcome To The Jungle has some really good bass lines and nice tone
12. Gid in, nice one fella :-) Best I can do was supporting Zodiac Mind Warp and Dr Feelgood...in no particular order....one was fantastic.....the other....good lord...:-0
13. I'm in a 80's trib band Planet Earth and virtually our whole set has been mentioned in the thread ;-)
14. Someone buy this bad boy, it's a beautiful funkmeister......ooooh freak out ;-)
15. Planet Earth.....www.planetearth80stribute.com & 7Sins
16. Couple of Go West nods in the thread......we close out eyes isn't hard to work out but it's a bloody big stretch if you play it in A#.. We do that and Call Me.....now that is a bugger to play :-0
17. Gear from Bass Direct, Basses from Manchester Bass Lounge, BC & Bass Direct, Strings from Overwater (when they've got any)
