    I think there's much to be said for the early EB Rays, from about 1986 to 1990. 4-bolt, lacquered necks. Sound a bit more mellow than the new ones to my ears, especially the 2-bands. They seem to go for far less than the pre-EBs.

    Bridge on a 64 would have threaded saddles not the single-groove ones. Decal also looks like a replacement.

    My sunburst P has a Nov 63 neck date, pots date to early 64. Spaghetti logo, black bobbins & clay dots. Hope that helps.
