  1. My absolute favourite pedal of all time, couldn't do without it!
  2. 5 Strings all the way for me! Prefer the feel, prefer the sound!
  3. My band is currently doing this, our approach is we all chip in and then the band owns the PA not one individual. If I left the band I’d have no claim to it. Our plan is to eventually pay ourselves back through gigs at which point we’ll all be happy… but probably looking to invest in more gear! We also want to buy an IEM system but PA first 😀
  4. It’s barky with a little bit of bite…
  5. Hope everything is smooth sailing for you mate! Fingers crossed!
  6. I’m so happy it’s not just me then, it was so frustrating!
  7. It would be great if they do get a DHL man to come and get it, have they told you yet? Firstly they try and palm you off with a DHL drop off service where you need to take the parcel to a shop where “it will be picked up” ? Great if that’s not the case though! As it was hell.
  8. God don’t get me started on Thomann and their returns. I couldn’t even get anyone to take my parcel off me in the first instance and I tried lots of those DHL drop off sites (all corner shops) no one wanted a bass in their shop store room and refused to take it… One shop mentioned the DHL man hadn’t been for 2 months… she showed me her stock room and it was just floor to ceiling of un collected returns parcels. In the end after threatening Thomann with legal action (I was really at the end of my tether) they got the DHL man to come to me to get the parcel from my home address and it went direct to them and within a couple of days I had my refund, but it took months and I won’t buy from them again as the returns are a bloody nightmare and the customer service team couldn’t care less.
  9. I think it needs one more bolt just to be sure…
  10. Think most of the good stuff is posted but a massive shout out to Robiq who is a monster bass player and has some incredible basses and grooves. https://m.youtube.com/@Robiq
  11. Haha! I think they’re much of a muchness there!
  12. My absolute worst nightmare
  13. Yep 👍 when I deal with BassDirect and BassBros I’m happy to take a small hit compared to what a private sale would get me. For me it’s so much less hassle and an added bonus is they’re both on my doorstep.
  14. I use Small Comfort Straps, adjusted almost as short as they will go! I like to wear my basses like necklaces!
  15. I still don’t have context. what’s he selling his bass for? A one-off payment? To fill a deficit? To pay for a holiday? Technically you’re not covering the cost of the bass, your donating to cover the cost of whatever the bass was going to cover? And without context I can’t do it? What if it’s to cover a mortgage payment and then next month there’s another collection? Solving the root of the problem is going to help more than throwing cash at something? Also please don’t read this as “I don’t care” I genuinely sympathise with everyone who’s in a predicament financially at the moment, the cost of living is a joke at the moment, my household has had to make a lot of changes too! It does suck.
  16. Yeah I have a 5 string Squier P Bass in my rack and I bloody love it! It’s one of the Cort made ones so quality is up there! Picked it up for around £250!
  17. It’s the only 1 mind! 😬 everything else is north of £300!!
  18. Great thread! I’d need a 5 string. Guitar Guitar in Brum would sort me out a Squier Affinity Jazz Bass V in 3 Colour Sunburst for £269! So I think I’d make the gig and be happy enough!
  19. But what is the situation? People can’t just chip in money for something that’s not being explained to them?
  20. Yeah this needs a lot more context?
  21. Nah I’m sure he sucks at that bit, no left hand…
  22. Nah you’ve got it in one, it sounds like he’s using a pitch shifter so it sounds comical, I’m shaking my head just thinking about it
