My band were recently (Saturday) honored to play at the LGGF 25th anniversary ball in Birmingham. For 25 years the LGGF has been fundraising for Marie Curie and Cancer Research and this night was a very special milestone for them and they celebrated in serious style. Such a great night for us and everyone in attendance!

This. Very recently we had a gig and a young girl was doing some solo vocal work before my band played, nice mood setting etc, we helped her setup, soundcheck, used our gear, she sang (very well tbf), but then when she was done packed her bits up and left without saying a word of thanks or watching us play. :(!

If you can afford it Scott’s Bass Lessons has an absolutely fantastic module by Philip Mann on Theory, in depth, in full, really well explained and delivered, made it very easy for me to understand and there are downloadable workbooks to help keep track. Highly recommended!

Around 4 minimum, 8 maximum per month for my band this year.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m incredibly intrigued to know what this mystery bass is!

If it’s a bass in the circa 4-8k market shops will lower their commission, I sold a bass for 6.5k and got the commission moved from 20% to 12%. As others have said contact a shop Bass Direct / Bass Bros and they will give you a realistic figure.

As others have said how do you know the seller was a “lying tw@t” they simply might not have known of any issues, amps are notoriously temperamental things. I do and will continue to trust the folks here on Basschat.

Yeah I’ve noticed that the A5 I sent back to Guitar Guitar (which was their last one, went to sold out after I bought it) is now back up in stock and for sale as a new item not marked as a return. (Can’t prove it’s the one I returned but the timing is perfect) My issues weren’t as bad as the ones on this thread and I boxed it up to be returned on the same day I got it, but I still don’t know if it’s right for them to be selling it as a new bass again… Theres some very distinct marks on the timber and some very slight scuffing, so if anyone here does buy it I’d be very keen to see if it’s the same bass!

Nice gig tonight at Leamington Tennis Club for their 150th anniversary. I took my new 5 string P Bass out and it was a real joy to play, great tone. Band played well, people danced, we got paid and got another gig booked off the back of it. So a result. Downside was it was outside and it was freezing! So cold that I had to order a coffee… Rock and Roll! 😂

It made it out and it sounded immense! Long love the precision bass!

New to me 5 string USA P arrived yesterday. It is absolutely wonderful to play. Got it setup with Ken Smith master series taper core strings which are my new favourite roundwounds, got two other P’s strung with flats so decided for rounds on this one. Going to gig it tonight so really looking forward to seeing how it performs! Only question now is… gold anodised pickguard or not?!

Thanks! Yes LaBellas they’re about 2 years old so still fresh! 😂! The fretboard is Laurel, someone did a good job of lining up a bit of the circular grain around a fret dot which I really appreciate!

A couple of shots of my Squier CV60s P Bass with Aguilar Pickups at a recent studio recording session, I don't know what it is but this bass is very special.

How weird! I’m also sending a Cort bass back to Guitar Guitar, it’ll be with them tomorrow. Mine was the Artisan A5 but similarly I wasn’t totally happy with it for various reasons! QC slipping? My experience with Cort has always been positive, hopefully it’s just a blip!
