I have been listening so some old 60's stuff today, and have come to the conclusion that some bass parts have been added as an afterthought. They don't go anywhere or add anything to the song and seem superfluous in some cases. These two spring to mind. Nigel Harrison with Blondie in the 70,s when Debbie Harry still had her looks. He always seemed to have a whale of a time, jumping up and down while playing his Fender P.

Being repeatedly kicked in the trousers is far better than the old Bass Cellar.
I've also always had good service from Wunjos, Denmark Street is becoming worth a visit again.

I actually played two songs which I never played before. My Way and Fly Me To The Moon.
Excellent songs for on the spot bluffing!!
How many bassists use the same line (or a variation of it) on more than one song?
The jams Bruce Foxton has used this pattern in three songs.
See if you can spot them.
