1.
Come on Premium Bonds
Chortle!
2. I use a pick on all the Lizzy stuff, and most other stuff that needs a driving bassline. I,m not bothered about some soppy kids (who probably were in liquid form when I started to play) telling me I,m not a proper bassist!!
3. I wouldnt bother. They look nice, but get in the way if you play with your thumb on or near the pup.
4. Vocals - Paul Rodgers Bass - Sting Drums - Don Henley Guitar - Dave Gilmour Keys - Booker T Jones
5. Being as your drummer has no drums, how about a bassist with no bass??
6. We do several 70,s glam rockers Bowie - Ziggy Stardust/Suffragette City T Rex - 20th Century Boy/Children Of The Revolution Osmonds - Crazy Horses Mamma Were All Crazy Now - Slade Faces - Stay With Me
7. I have been having trouble with the little grub screw on the P Bass G string saddle, it seems that the vibrations etc, are causing the screw to come loose and drop the saddle. I have sorted it by a little silicon to keep it tight. This however, had me checking the action every couple of weeks, and I was wondering how often do you all tweak your action?
8. Some might say maple is harder and gives a brighter sound, but I prefer the look of a R/W board. http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-guitars/4778-maple-vs-rosewood.html
9. I also play the linoleum.
10. I started off on bass, but learned guitar after a few years. I,m a fairly good rhythm player but sh*te at lead. Still, I prefer to be on the bass anyhoo!
11.
making special wide neck guitars is very labour intensive and I am the only person in the world who makes them.
Copywrite MDP
12.
the first mistake you made was buying Behringer... i avoid them at all costs now
Agreed. Behringer is the Marlin Sidewinder of bass amps.
13. You might find for future reference that some shops offer a beat best price policy. I have rang around a few shopswhen I was bass hunting, and asking them if they could beat a rival shops best price. DV247 offeredthe best prices.
14. Ah, but who replaced who in The Yardbirds??
15.
who is this guy (i'm a newbie) ... the ad was amusing, he doesnt exactly sell the item very well ... lots of "quite goods" in there lol
He is a legend on here, some say a god! So have some respect for our glorious leader!!
16. 2011 Am Standard in Oly White and tort p bass is what I picked up quite cheap last month. Great bass with a nice punchy sound too! Congrats!
17.
How weird that he wouldn't sell it back to you. I wonder why, you'd think he would just be pleased to have had a buyer and one that he had already had dealings with.
Unless he had made some MDP 'improvements' on it and felt a bit embarrassed about it?
18. The Seeker by The Who. A great line and certainly one of Entwistles best.
19.
Did it get trapped in your wallet ? For clarity, Is it the 2nd or 3rd joint from the end of the finger ?
Sorry, its the second joint, or the one above the knuckle. It doesnt seem to be swollen. It seems I need to get myself down to holland and barrett. Thanks discreet for the pm.
20.
Where on the fingers ? all of them ?
Mainly on the middle finger on the lower joint.
21. The fingers on my left hand have become quite painful recently. I hope its not arthritis kicking in, that,ll spell the end of my bass playing days!
22. Slade - Mama we're All Crazy Now. Quiet good actually, its not the root note plodder I expected it to be,
23.
Black is the only colour that ever looks good on any shade of bass in my eyes.
Aye black, its what Leo wanted!!
24. I have them on my old Squier. They actually look quiet good with the sunburst and tort guard. However, I dont play it in my covers band, I use it my cabaret band playing fingerstyle over the 2oth fret to get an old fashioned bassey thump.
