1. There are loads of fakes about on ebay and amazon apparently are they definitely genuine. I have a set and they are my favourite flats. I was about to buy another set but will hold off for a bit and follow this thread. I do know the price as shot up.
2. This world would be a lovely place if those pesky humans were not here, putting making profit above literally everything.
3. Obviously the staff couldn't give a flying ! (#&/ about what they are sending out and are happy to just pack any old rubbish they can get their hands on. Makes you think that the company ethos is not one of high customer care standards.
4. I use a waves thing with reaper and have had no problems at all.
5.
Reminds me of the bits I skip on the Primus Albums, each to their own though.
I laughed at this post but thought i better have a listen before i comment. After i googled her, the clip I saw was exactly as stingraypete said! Also noticed a comment under the clip that bass solo's were also known as atmosphere killers in some circles but that's an whole other thread. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.
6. Where are you based mate? It doesn't show up on the mobile version. Cheers
7. Vivendi informed him and the other guys that the royalties owed to them from 3 decades of sales was $81 in merchandising and $98 in music sales. I too would be suing.
8. The first song I can remember taking notice of the bass was war pigs by black sabbath. I still love Geezer's tone from the early albums.
9.
Ok guys, most know I'm a Yankee. What is a holiday camp? Blue
An holiday camp is very much like those big prisons ran by sheriffs that are popular in the USA where they make the prisoners wear pink, sleep in cramped quarters and work for nothing. Except you get more alcohol and sex in prison and the other people aren't as annoying as holiday camp goers. On the bright side the sentence is usually restricted to 2 weeks at most and the chance of getting shanked is slightly less too.

Gibson ES175.

Really depends on the model. A studio will be less than a custom shop. There are many models.
11. It's our Las Vegas, commonly know as Skeg vegas. It's a tiny bit less flashy too.
12.
I love SRV's tone, it has been aped so much it's almost clichéd - but every one is a pale imitation of Stevie's.
I agree, many try to get his tone but no one comes close. When I was younger I spent around 18 months where I only listened to SRV's music. His playing and tone had a profound affect on me. The clarity and bell like tone that he achieved mesmerised me and I spent lots of time and money trying to get it. I was totally obsessed with it. I got close with 2 ts 808s, one for boost and another for a the overdrive but in the end I realised I didn't have his hands and I was on a hiding to nothing lol.
13. Any tone SRV used is perfect for me. Quite keen on dimebags type distortion too.
14. Yes please from me. The little bit I have learnt helped me understand chord changes and chord tones which alone increased my playing massively.
15.
I'm a huge fan of Positive Grid's BIAS and BIAS FX apps for all of my guitar tones. BIAS is an amazing app that allows you to also 'profile' any real amplifier and use that as your sound without having to keep borrowing your mate's 5150mkII all the time heh heh! BIAS FX I'd say is the one to start with as it has a range of pedals in too. Any 'studio processing' I do outside of the plug in, such as 'room sound' delays and reverbs, but PG nails it for drive pedals and amp tones.
Hi Dood, would u say that bias fx is worth getting if u already have amplitude and garage band? I have both on my ipad mini 2 but I am not overly impressed with them tbh, especially the heavy guitar settings. Cheers
16. I once called a brighton based music store with an enquiry and the person who answered treat me like I'd just asked if I could tea-bag him. I wasn't impressed and would never deal with them again.
17. I'm sure I can see marks where the strings have been.
18. Well he sounded a bit intense, who does he think he is? Robbie Williams?? 😉 I think you are best out of it Mark.
19. Pop down to his desk and turn yourself up to a happy level then superglue it in place. Is he an integral part of the band or is he disposable?
20. I have a gretsch Jim dandy which is small. It's called a parlour guitar and I think most good guitar brands have one or too in their range. Couldn't say whether they are 6 year old child small but they are small.
21. Roland cube 30 bass is nice and also has a fender bass man setting on it for the guitar.
