on the plus side i've always thought it's better if someone quits than just becomes uninterested. you may be miffed he's leaving old horse, but at least he's told you outright rather than just becoming less and less interested and dragging you all down as well.

yeah, i've tried using the bridge to raise the action, but that didn't work. as for checking the relief, at the moment the strings are so flat against the neck that it's not possible. i wish i could remember if i used the schaller bridge plate when i did the first fit...although i'm beginning to think that i must have.

despite selling mine to a friend years ago and not liking my little big muff too much... i've just bought myself one of these from ebay it was a good price, and i can always just sit on it for a few years as the mystique accumulates.

well, i restrung the sabre with the warwicks and i'm impressed so far - nice under the fingers and with a bit more give in them than the elites (if that's a real thing i don't know, but it's they way they feel). we'll have to see how they perform over time, but this may have opened the way to trying other makes of strings. just don't tell the elites i'm two-timing them !

i've got the boss syb-5 and i'm in a similar situation. i only really use it to create synthy swells during the drone sections of the live set. i'd bought it to use with the drum and bass band i lay with, but it was a bit too in your face for that. i think it's very much a case of less is more, and i'm sure it's great for your zender-stylee sounds, but if i don't warm to it soon i'll be bunging it up for sale.
