id' say q-tron first, but to be honest i've never used a wah pedal [i]and[/i] and auto wah, so i'm not sure which of those would come first. other than that it's usually compression >> distortion >> modulation >> delay but i've no idea about the octaver and the microsynth.

a band splitting up is like a relationship ending...you never want anything to do with that kind of stuff again... but time heals - i'm glad you're back at it now though. and btw - what's 'best practice' ? some kind of pitch-shifting thingumy ?

how about epoxying a length of steel rod to the exposed screw and then using a pair of pliers when it's set.
