  1. Trace Elliot Twin Valve Head in official cabinet/sleeve. This is an extremely powerful amp with amazing tone and versatility. Modestly rated at 115 watts it will blow many modern amps out of the water in terms of punch and volume. The build quality is near military spec - it’s heavy duty and over engineered. An old school and industrial looking UK made vintage amp. It’s all original as far as I can see and has just come back from being serviced after a quarantine at a cost of £85 with a clean bill of health. It has the typical low transformer hum of an old valve amp. I think it’s late 80’s so now around 30 years old! It must be an early model as it doesn’t have the balanced DI. There are a few reviews on here of people’s experiences of these amps. I don’t want trades and I’m also against shipping it as it’s very heavy as you would expect. I’d prefer the potential buyer to try it out so I’m happy for you to collect at an acceptable social distance from my front garden after I demo it. Only selling as I’ve bought an old AC50 setup. For obvious reasons no none UK sales. More pictures added - the Markbass cab or Jennings cab are not included of course! £295 Thanks for looking!
  2. I’d buy your red one!
  3. Yes I’ll do that tomorrow in daylight. Meanwhile here is a picture of the circuit I took whilst cleaning the bass and also the jack socket compared to my 79 P bass.

  5. He occasionally went to Morrison’s however
  6. Thanks for the reassurance - yes I always write a separate label when I post anything and before the courier adds their stickers/bar codes. I’ve sent literally hundreds of musical items and rarely had a problem and not had an issue like this before. I agree that the sender ought to have done this....but at least he admitted he hadn’t ! Fingers crossed you are correct. I’ll keep everyone updated.
  7. He had actually sent it and sent me the tracking details prior to me sending mine although yes with hindsight I ought to have waited.
  8. Yes
  9. This Precision Special has one of the nicest necks I’ve played equal to my ‘79 Precision which is my go to bass. It has lots of dings as it’s been a well loved and gigged bass. There’s nothing structural, the truss rod and frets are fine, the finish still looks fantastic but there are dings. Pickups and circuitry are original, the passive active mini toggle is a bit ‘thumpy’ when you switch it but it works fine. Both active and passive sound great. The output jack is scratchy but it’s easily replaced and I’ll include an old spare I got but never got round to fitting. Some of the gold plate has worn with age and use. Crucially it’s heavy but not as heavy as most of these as they average between 10 and 13lbs. My white one was 12! This one is 10.5 or 4.8kgs in new money. On a decent strap it really is a comfy bass to play. It’s not a boat anchor but it’s no lightweight either. What you get is an incredibly punchy sound with bags of sustain and a very nice rare finish with matching headstock. The bass comes with Fender case that has a bit of a smoker’s smell to it. NB there’s a little plastic plugged area near the toggle switch where I assume a LED had been fitted at some stage although this would not be stock. I’m not looking for swaps or daft offers I don’t need to sell for financial reasons but do need to adhere to my one in one out policy. I also will not send it outside the UK please don’t be offended by this it’s just not something that I do. Back up for sale. I’d consider a swap for a passive Precision from this era. Now sold
  10. Cheers yes I understand that however I’m not accusing the sender of theft or otherwise but I do feel he was misguided and too hasty selling the item when nothing was resolved. I’ve told him that and he stated he sold it to raise money in case the bass doesn’t turn up. I’m afraid we all know that there are risks when sending anything in the post as none will insure correctly or accept liability I learned that lesson years ago. I’m baffled by Parcelforce’s ineptitude when it comes to simple reassurance and communication.
  11. Yes I thought as much though I would have no recourse to claim through eBay. Let’s hope the bass is in a warehouse waiting to be found!
  12. I traded a bass on here a week before the lockdown. My Musicman Stingray for a Fender Precision Deluxe. The chap I traded with is new here but has a good record on eBay. I sent the Musicman bass using Parcelforce 24 and it turned up the following day at the other guy’s house and he emailed to say he is very happy with it. My item also got sent via Parcelforce although initially it went to the wrong depot (literally sent to Coventry never to be seen again) according to tracking so I had to wait another day for it. When I eventually received my parcel - on the Friday - it was not the size of package I had expected for a cased guitar and when I opened it found it was a load of rugs and a big parasol in a long plastic bag. Initially the cynic in me thought It was a scam so I was going to ring the sender to challenge him about it. The label however had my name and address (and the tracking number he’d been sent originally on it) It also had another address and tracking number on it. I rang up the guy who I had traded with - he then rang Parcelforce. Their representative rang me and took all the details and said that they would ring me back - which they didn’t. At the time they said that they thought it may still be with them and would ring later. Then nothing and when I tried to ring their helpline there was no facility to talk to anyone as it is menu driven with no option to speak to staff. I was told that this has changed because of staff shortages owing to the corona virus. Although I recognise these are strange times this is a ££££ worth of bass and I’m not sure what to do. The guy who I swapped with though helpful has been in touch frequently but tells me Parcelforce keep putting him on hold or not ringing him back. I have had no luck ringing them at all. I have no new tracking numbers. I do have the addresses of everyone concerned and have screen shots of all the tracking numbers. Last Monday I rang Parcelforce as I was getting no updates from the sender and when I tracked one of the other barcodes on the package I had got found it was at the Medway depot which I then rang. I managed to get through to a real person who talked to me and informed me that my bass is still in the hub and that someone would ring me. They apologised as their staff are down due to C-19. I’m still awaiting that call. At this point I felt a little more reassured. They did confirm that the parcel has no tracking number however as the correct one is now redundant because of the mix up. I have had emails stating their concerns and acknowledgment of their mistake. As is my habit I checked eBay for basses for sale that morning and newly listed was my Musicman which later had been sold - hmmm was it technically my bass as it hasn’t yet been paid for? I contacted the guy I traded with assured me he will give me some of the money if mine doesn’t turn up. Hmm some? I also managed to trace the parasol sender and they hopefully have been united with the new owner! This is a long winded and messy story but if I don’t get my bass I would think that Parcelforce are liable and if the sender hasn’t insured it properly then what should I do? It’s a difficult situation that seems a little trite in current circumstances but I do feel badly let down through no fault of my own. Anybody had any similar experiences or am I doomed? Cheers
  13. Hi Karl, don’t sell it short try the extra washer method and shim as suggested I’ve used both methods and successfully sorted out neck issues. Also the trussrod may just be tight there’s loads of tips on various sites about remedying this. If all else fails buy a Status neck for it. We have had a few conversations about this and they do now produce a neck with a ‘maple’ board. Good luck and stay safe!
  14. Glad you guys worked it out😊. This is a lovely bass!
  15. He’s been in touch he reckons it’s 11lbs
  16. Line 6 Spyder with all leads and accessories. In excellent condition as it’s not been gigged. Loads of effects on tap. Too much for me! Pickup only as it’s big and heavy!
  17. To stop the magnet ‘popping’ against the bottom E when you dig in I reckon. My Precision does that.

Another epic trade with Martin! Many thanks from this side of the Pennines!
  19. 1977/78 Fender Precision Bass in excellent condition. The bass was refinished from its original black to a metallic blue/grey back in 2002 by Gus guitars. At the same time the failing original pickup was replaced with a Kent Armstrong (sorry the original pickup wasn’t included when I bought it). I have now replaced the Kent Armstrong with an original Dimarzio PAF pickup from the same era as in my opinion this has the authentic 70’s P bass tone with a little more cut. I can swap it back to the Kent Armstrong if preferred of course. Everything else including the pots are stock as far as I’m aware. It’s a well balanced bass with a lovely neck and fully working truss rod. The original scratchplate has the matching serial number on a sticker on the underside. It plays really well and weighs in at a very reasonable 4.5 kgs. It comes with a non original case. No trades sorry. This is a reluctant sale however I’ve just bought an older Fender and need to recoup some cash. Pickup preferred but I can post within the UK only.
  20. Thanks I’ll edit it!
  21. Great powerful lightweight cab with 12” driver and horn. Got this in a trade. It has had the logo removed but it is included as is the padded cover. Italian made, excellent condition, rarely gigged. Pickup only please, no couriers and no trades. Thanks!
  22. Great cab Italian made comes with cover excellent condition. Light weight and pushes air well beyond its footprint. No postage or trades pickup only. Thanks!
  23. It’s not a bad weight - I find it comfy using a wide strap it’s a similar weight to my Precision
