  1. I bought this from Geoff of this forum recently, alas a slight miscalculation of weight means it’s just a tad too heavy for my dicky neck and shoulder at just over 4.2kgs. It’s as it left Geoff with the exception of me restringing it. The spare original white scratchplate is also included. It’s a lovely bass and plays beautifully. A great neck and punchy sound. A great example of a modern Precision. Pickup is preferred but I will post at buyers cost U.K. only no trades. Here is Geoff’s original post
  2. Leave it alone! It’s got the honourable marks of time - mostly your time so keep the history. Post a picture of it too 😊
  3. There is a good article here in tribute to this legendary player whose death was recently announced - https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2020/09/30/in-memoriam-francis-rocco-prestia/
  4. Those screw on bits are awful, he makes a point of the red tint to the weave in the ad but I wasn’t aware of Status doing that, is it just a light reflection? Also anyone notice the odd machine head, what’s that all about then?
  5. I’m selling this old Marathon to fund another build project - this one is all original there is some lacquer checking but it is the original finish. Neck is excellent as are the electrics. It’s in very good condition - the string guides which are Shergold - are later additions to the bass. A small area of binding has been repaired. Looking for £475 if anyone is interested. I’m not looking for trades. More pics on request. It’s very light weight at under 4kgs. Single output version with stereo switch. Can post at buyer’s cost in the UK only. Sorry no case.
  6. What’s the weight of this and what year is the body? Maybe a daft question but what happened to the original neck? Thanks
  7. As new, only a few months old it’s boxed with adapter and manuals. I can post for £22 but pickup preferred. It’s a great synth, I used it for a one off project but it’s now surplus to requirements and so surplus to requirements as my home studio is a bit small for a large synth like this to be stored in unused - no trades. 37 Full-size keys Monophonic/Duo-phonic synthesizer Controls: octave +/-, pitch bend, modulation 2 VCOs with sawtooth and square/pulse VCO sync VCO pulse-width modulation Noise generator Ring modulator Low-pass filter with resonance 3 Selectable filter circuits Adjustable high-pass filter Switchable overdrive 1x AR- and 1x ADSR envelope VCO 1 can be used as LFO Digital effects section 32-Step sequencer Arpeggiator
  8. Mark Bass Traveller 15” Bass Cab Italian made version. This cab is compact and a reasonable weight however it can pump out 400 watts into 8 ohms so lots of power for bigger gigs standalone or combined with another cab or combo. Complete with Roqsolid fitted waterproof cover. Pickup only as it is bulky. No trades. Please do not buy if you can’t collect it. It’s a seriously loud pro cab for not much cash!

  10. Any maple boards 😁?
  11. Great basses these if only it had a maple board...
  12. Aww poor thing 😳
  13. Yes!
  14. I’ve added more pics showing this
  15. Here is a small but perfectly formed mini P bass. It’s around half the size of a normal sized instrument. I put heavy cut down flats on it as normal strings - even short scale ones - don’t give decent tension. It now plays fine. The bass is all stock and comes with its original but rather gusty smelling carry case/gig bag in fetching brown leatherette. The cream covered pickups aren’t Dimarzios but sound fine. The electrics are okay and I’ve given it a good clean. The finish has many blemishes and darker patches where stickers have been removed. It looks like someone has attempted to buff it up at some point and caused the finish to go duller. The hardware works as it ought to and the truss rod works fine. The bass plays and sounds good. Just like a Precision and punches far above its puny size. It looks to have been made from decent wood as it’s quite heavy - obviously in proportion it isn’t a boat anchor by any means. I bought it for a one off event that’s now cancelled so I’m going to sell it on. I’ve not seen one before but have owned several Maya basses that have been decent quality as this one is. It’s certainly a talking point and would be great for a child or smaller player. More pics to follow but here is one to show it in comparison to a full scale bass. No trades. Can post at cost UK only.
  16. or have I missed something? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squire-P-Bass-Special-California-Series/274492507038?hash=item3fe907439e%3Ag%3A04gAAOSw4PNfXOSm&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  17. A bump for a beautiful modern era Precision!
  18. Here is my 2007 Corona Precision - it’s the US model with the S1 switching and through body stringing. It comes with the original case, key and manual. It is in excellent condition although it has sustained a paint ding/blemish on the front where in a former life it collided with a mic stand. No other cosmetic or functional defects. It plays beautifully and has the classic P bass sound with the ability to boost the mid with the S1 switch. The maple neck is unmarked, straight and true with little fret wear and it has some beautiful subtle figuring to the grain on the board. It’s under 9lbs in weight so easy on the shoulders. A classic Precision that hasn’t been modded in any way. I’m selling as I don’t really need it now my ‘78 is back from the workshop and I could do with the cash to pay for the custom bass I’m currently putting together. No trades, please don’t ask and sorry but it’s UK only. I’m happy for a socially distant pickup (It is now back in it’s case and won’t be played whilst it’s for sale) or I can send via UPS for a further £30. Sold!
  19. That’s a nice looking bass - what is it’s weight and are you considering posting it?
  20. Fretless Fender Precision USA from 1976. I bought this recently and it needed some TLC - the last owner told me that they bought it as a 75/76 Fender fretless with a refinish and PJ pickup set however I believe it’s a bitsa as the body looks like a copy and though routed pre 76 it appears later. There is a small repair on the headstock near the E string it doesn’t effect the playability or stability of the neck. The pickups are Schaller as is the bridge. The fretless board has an old repair toward the body end that is stable. The nut has been replaced - the bass has more of a Jazz nut width compared to my ‘78 see last pic. It’s light at under 4kgs and has been strung with Roto black nylons. The skunk stripe can be felt slightly near the neck joint as if it is not flush however the neck is solid enough. The serial plate is original as are the neck, tuners and string tree. Truss rod works. It plays really well and sounds nice although the pickups are punchy they are a bit buzzy so I was going to add more shielding. I’m selling it as is and for what it owes me. It’s a play as is or one for modding. Cheap and cheerful fretless vintage Fender (at least in part). No trades. More pics to follow. UK only I’m willing to post boxed in a cheap gigbag at your expense.

  21. I had a bass go missing sent through the same courier company at the beginning of lockdown, in my case there was a mix up at the post office and the labels hadn’t been put on correctly. After 5 months of doggedly chasing the company by the sender and myself the bass was located and arrived at my place in perfect condition. Don’t give up hope and make sure you get your evidence together and work with the other party. I feared theft but in actual fact it was a case of a mix up and subsequent delivery to a wrong address. There was an awful lot that went wrong however there were some good people at the company who really did put a lot of effort into ensuring I got my bass.
