1.
Are these bass guitars any good to play ?
I got one exactly like this for my girlfriend a year or so back, it is actually a nice bass to play and sounds very punchy, it has a short scale and is small so perfect for her as she is petite( makes me think the girl in the eBay pic must be very very tiny ). It has a 'Duncan designed' pickup on it I believe was original to the brand. I keep threatening to use it at a gig for a laugh. The strange thing is that it weighs a ton and it's really difficult to get a comfortable strap position. I reckon the girl in the advert looks fed up because it's so damn heavy....
2. Jedson were an import brand, not very well made and with cheap hardware and electrics, I think it's over priced.
3. Hi I managed to get this as the seller was fairly local to me, football was on, not much info on the listing so I took a gamble and got a bargain I think! It's a '94 'made in Japan' virtually mint and super light, plays really well, I gigged it last night and got real compliments on the sound of it. This will be my primary gigging bass for the moment - I've been getting a bit worried about taking my '82 JV out to rowdy pub gigs lately!
4. I have a 70s Grabber 1 - with the sliding pickup - this is the only bass I feel 100% confident with for recording, it sits great in the mix and engineers love it even more than my Precision. I've stopped gigging with it now because I'm frightened that it could get knocked or even nicked! Welcome to the Grabber club BSB.

7. Traded a lovely old Wilkes bass with Gary today, all done quickly and easily with no problems. Gary is a true gent and the best bass packer upper I've ever had the pleasure to do business with. Cheers to you Gary!
8. I have the opportunity to buy an instrument I've always wanted so I am selling on a few of my more eclectic basses. This is a lovely 70s Japanese made Kasuga, it is shall we say somewhat derivative of a well known brand favoured by prog rockers and punks alike and even Macca has given it his famous thumbs aloft. I'm not going to place any pics so not to upset anyone but these can be emailed on request. The bass is in the original natural finish and features an unusual bound maple fingerboard with triangular pearl markers. The neck is bolt on unlike the model it's based on. The body has a checkered binding and features a very powerful bridge pickup with chrome surround and cover plate and a warmer neck pickup. The bridge features an adjustable mute. Can you tell what it is yet? The bass is all original and comes with its old hard shaped case also in excellent condition. When I got the bass it needed some work as an old repair needed looking at - the fingerboard glues had separated possibly when in transit so the board was coming away slightly from the neck. My luthier has made the repair sound again. The second issue was that the volume pots were both cutting out when turned. I replaced one with a spare pot I had knocking around, it's still 'scratchy' but does the job, the second I cleaned but it still cuts out at points so will need a new one at some stage ( original pot included ) again a minor problem. The bass is in excellent cosmetic condition and has only a few minor dings including one at the back of the neck which is behind the first fret. It's a great example of early Japanese bass making and I've been told is quite a collectors piece. I'd like to get back what I paid for it and the repairs so I'd like £285. I'd prefer pickup but will post in the UK if necessary. I'd swap straight for a Wilkes Fretted bass or trade for a Telecaster guitar, Tokai bass, blah, blah....try me. Also interested in a 70s Fender P bass body. Mods if there is a problem with this ad please let me know or edit accordingly as I know there is controversy in some quarters about these oldies. Cheers Ash
