1. Pics would be nice I'm interested!
2. Thanks chaps, yes one of those rare ebay bargains - it's got a slightly deeper neck compared to my JVs but much lighter in weight - its a classy bass and I would've happily paid more, these 90s MIJs are well worth scouting for.
3.
the bridge saddles are different to my tokai. Looks older if anything and i think mines an '86
In the original ad he says that the saddles have been changed, also it would be an earlier model.
4. I think that honor should go to Mr deanovw but I'd be happy to deputise if necessary!
5.
I'd say the neck at least is Tokai judging by the machines 50 year old Fender machines look like this
Agreed as soon as I saw the heads I thought Tokai Jazz Sound. Tokai also rather cheekily used an L prefix on their early MIJ serial numbers. Approach with caution.
6.
I have a 1977 Precision exactly the same as this which i bought new - £300 in Denmark street back in the summer of 77. Although i have retired it from gigs it is still my first choice for any studio trips. I think the price for this is really good value. I cannot believe that it has not already gone. jeff
Thanks for the kind words Jeff - I think it's on it's way though!
7. Epiphone Sidewinder 'mudbucker' pickup for sale £22 incl postage in the UK. It's in very good condition. Here's a picture of one on an EB3 bass. http://www.music123.com/bass/epiphone-ltd-ed-worn-eb-3-electric-bass-guitar
8. You wouldn't be interested in a part trade with my Kasuga Rickenfacker would you? I think this looks a very lovely bass.
9. I have a no name custom Jazz bass with active pickups if you are interested. It was put together by a luthier and plays well, sounds even better and it's well made.
10.
It's a fabulous example, I've seen it in the wood so to speak. Bargain.
Cheers Russ yes it's a beauty and I think the price is fair for what is a very playable and well constructed 70s era bass.
11.
Thought you sold this old bean? Is this back up with a vengeance?
I have a potential buyer who is coming to play it this weekend hopefully but it's still a bit tentative so I thought I'd give it a bump for insurance purposes!
12.
That so looks like my old bass. May I ask where you got it from and how long you have had it. I think I sold mine around 2001/2002 on Ebay.
I got it from a localish musician from the Greater Manchester area who said he had owned it for many years.
13.
Me too. Serious gasssss.
Seriously good bass!
14.
Birth year precision... Not half tempted, but alas I'm brassic...
Like so many of us I'm afraid!
15. Up for a lovely bass
16. All original with Badass bridge
17. Now with a small picture
18. This is a Fender USA 1977 Precision, it features a maple fingerboard & original natural finish ash body. The bass weighs in at around 9.9lbs so not too hefty for a 70s era bass. Gone

Sold

Bump for a bargain
20.
This 'duckface' meme had passed me by entirely, and I wish it had passed me by completely! Is this what the world has come to? PRESS THE BUTTON, SOMEBODY! PRESS IT NOW!! http://www.rounds.com/blog/25-worst-cases-duckface/
Same here - I asked my girls about it and they were also none the wiser.....however neither of them are of the orange spray tan giant butterfly eyelash type either.
21.
Are these bass guitars any good to play ?
I got one exactly like this for my girlfriend a year or so back, it is actually a nice bass to play and sounds very punchy, it has a short scale and is small so perfect for her as she is petite( makes me think the girl in the eBay pic must be very very tiny ). It has a 'Duncan designed' pickup on it I believe was original to the brand. I keep threatening to use it at a gig for a laugh. The strange thing is that it weighs a ton and it's really difficult to get a comfortable strap position. I reckon the girl in the advert looks fed up because it's so damn heavy....
22. Jedson were an import brand, not very well made and with cheap hardware and electrics, I think it's over priced.
23. Hi I managed to get this as the seller was fairly local to me, football was on, not much info on the listing so I took a gamble and got a bargain I think! It's a '94 'made in Japan' virtually mint and super light, plays really well, I gigged it last night and got real compliments on the sound of it. This will be my primary gigging bass for the moment - I've been getting a bit worried about taking my '82 JV out to rowdy pub gigs lately!
24. I have a 70s Grabber 1 - with the sliding pickup - this is the only bass I feel 100% confident with for recording, it sits great in the mix and engineers love it even more than my Precision. I've stopped gigging with it now because I'm frightened that it could get knocked or even nicked! Welcome to the Grabber club BSB.
