That's good also I reckon he would do better if he put the option for the buyer to organise their own courier too. Also it's worth noting that he will have to pay fees on the postage price too as eBay have changed this recently. Thanks for inboxing him.

I have a Cheyenne 4004CII and it's just so classy I don't generally like gold hardware but against the jet glow finish this is now known as my 'John Player Special' bass. The humbuckers sound great not as cutting as the 4003 but still manage to give that characteristic Rick grunt. I admit I have GAS for the walnut 4003 after seeing geofio's demo though

I love Hofners I have a '64 Violin and a reissue 2006 Cavern both sound and play superbly and always get lots of compliments from the audience. They are not just for Macca fans and 60s music they can give some serious welly and strung with roundwounds have a surprising range of tones. This is a nice bass for not much money if you want to try out the brand you can't go wrong. Good luck with the sale! -

The chap who bought it is in the Facebook Shergold group. He seems pretty pleased with his buy and has owned Shergold instruments previously. Similar to yourself I thought this would've gone for £200 less as this isn't a particularly rare model.

I've had a few updates, pictures, details about finish etc. I was told my bass would be ready two weeks ago but then nothing and a couple of emails from me subsequently .....well no reply yet. It's a shame because the bass looks fantastic and he has been very patient with some of the changes of mind I have had during the process. I know that it is near completion at least. By the way mine wasn't anything to do with the Basschat deal I was impressed by his work from pics and reviews I'd seen on here. It's my first custom build so I had envisaged a slow turnaround however the lack of regular communication as others have said is very frustrating. -

I've used Tru oil on a Shergold neck and it gave a great finish after only a few coats I gave it a satin type finish on the reverse and a glossier finish on the headstock fascia. I used cheap paper coffee filters to apply it as it's easier to control.

I bought this lovely bass off Marcus only last week, it plays, sounds and looks stunning. Alas I don't get on with the slab body owing to my shoulder and forearm injury. I've decided that despite wanting one of these for years I can't justify keeping it so here it is again folks! It is in the same condition as described in Mark's original thread and comes in a case. It even includes strap locks. I'm selling for what I paid for it and I'm not looking for trades or offers as this is very much a bargain. Pickup would be best unless you want to organise your own courier. The bass weighs around 9lbs and balances perfectly. The neck is very comfortable the nut width is 42mm.
