2. Brilliant job on two custom pickguards for my Fender Bullet Bass - many thanks!
3. Could be a modded Egmond or Rosetti bass - has that European 60s look about it.
4. I think mine would be considerably more expensive
5. May well do that, but I do quite like the weather beaten look - matches the owner!
6. Having regained my Hayman/Shergold GAS after seeing Discreet's wonderful Hayman 4040 renovation I bought this bashed in Marathon. I honestly thought it would be a 'project' given the price paid however after a tweak of the trussrod it plays great and thanks to the added Jazz bass pickup has a very wide range of sounds. The body looks like it's been dragged along the M6 and attacked with a hammer -amazingly however it has not sustained any structural damage. It's a little heavier than some Shergolds I've played although lighter than my Fender Precision it has great sustain and less neck dive and is very comfortable to play.

Thanks - yes an excellent bass - some better pics of the cosmetic blemishes attached.
9. This restoration rekindled my GAS for all things Jack Golder and Norm Houlder and oops I've bought another Shergold Marathon.

11. Beautiful - great to see the old girl restored! The tone on these basses is amazing just goes to prove that classic basses don't necessarily have to be made in the USA. Thanks for sharing. Being a one time owner of this bass I can vouch for the condition of it prior to restoration and this is a top class job. Well done!

17. Ha ha! Cheers if I get it and when my shoulder heals I'll pm you!
18. I probably will as at the moment a shorter scale bass that is light weight would suit my needs - I have a shoulder injury that is taking its time to ease. I was looking for an SG bass but they are a bit expensive unless I can sell my old Precision.
19. I had one of these for a short time and sold it on, mine was fretless and had the original Schaller hardware (M series smaller type tuners and 3D bridge). The original pickup was one of those eight pole piece rectangular jobs - possibly Schaller or Dimarzio - this one looks to have an EMG Select installed. It may have been a medium scale. I'd already seen this and messaged the seller to see what the scale length is. I got rid of mine because the original pickup had a very low output and sounded weak. Nice looking bass though. Edit - just had a reply it's a 32" scale

21.
It reminds me of the scene in the remake of The Fly where the guy comes out of the machine all jumbled up with a load of cables.
That's exactly what I thought too - Brundle Bass!
