wow Ash thats gorgeous, you really are the king of the JV's
Thanks! This one is near perfect and I'm still dithering about moving it on. I'm hoping to post a better quality picture when I get my camera organised.

This site will give you lots of info on the JV series - http://www.21frets.com
4. It's a cheap Satellite MIJ or MIK bass from the early 80s absolutely nothing to do with Mr Fender and worth about £100
5.
Basschat Marketplace has all the best JVs at the moment! Bump for a beautiful bass!
Agreed there's a bit of a JV sellers club going on this past few weeks!

8. That's a nice early one - the body will be Hayman stock - they have a large rout under the large scratch plate to accommodate the Hayman pickup assembly and double split pickups. The Marathon version had an extra large rectangular scratch plate with a single Shergold pickup.
9. I reckon it's either a Grant or a Status (no not that Status) both importer badged cheapish basses judging by the materials.
10. Here's the Hayman - bought as a project, needs the neck sorting out though as it's bowed and defretted.
11. Well I may have a Hayman 4040 I may be moving on......
12. I like the neck width being a Precision and Grabber fan, I always felt they were very comfy to play. I just love these quirky British basses my first full scale bass was a Marathon and I never quite got over part exchanging it for my Precision.
13.
Sold for £315. I would be physically sick... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121181004775?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Well I'm very pleased because I was the highest bidder! A match for my Masquerader
14. A great deal from a great guy, many thanks for the Squier Bass VI! Cheers Ash
15. Very nice mine is a later one, best guitar neck I've ever played!
16. Nice line up - pity Bill Bruford can't be tempted back out of retirement.
17. The tuners are original to the bass - they were generic MIJ tuners of the day fitted to many instruments. Not the best looking but perfectly functional. I needed some replacements recently and they are hard to find even Brandoni have sold their last stocks - I bought mine from a fellow Basschatter
18. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Hofner-Vintage-Strip-Tuners-for-Violin-Bass-Not-Reissue/200964766573?_trksid=p3984.m2206&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D17234%26meid%3D1493734736018965489%26pid%3D100052%26prg%3D8045%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D181219816362%26 Wow pricey!
19. It's a Marathon 6 string bass - the Hayman basses had string trees that were slightly larger - here's mine. Some of the Shergolds may have had them stock or fitted later there were several variants.
20. The string trees aren't stock - this is what they look like on mine -
21. Oh yes please this will match my Shergold Masquerader nicely!
