[/quote] Thanks - it's a great instrument at a very fair price - if anyone wanted the neck only minus hardware I'd sell it for £300 as that seems to be the going rate for decent 70s US necks in good condition. I'd also consider a trade for an original Shergold bass - no other trades though.

It's a Precision type bass with a Fender neck plate and decal and some better quality hardware. Probably. -

It's a 'stealth listing' note the heavy use of the word 'style' - not actually claiming to be anything so operating within eBay rules. Reasonable quality cheapo with added tantalising JV kudos.....avoid! -

It's a fake, it's been on fairly recently and possibly being sold on. The proportions of the headstock are wrong, decal is more like a Precision Standard, finish looks cheap like an affinity Squier. The string spacing is around 12mm can be played with fingers but to me plays better with a pick. There's a YouTube video on the site in a thread about the Bass VI somewhere of Soft Machine with Roy Babbington playing finger style.

Body shape is wrong, parts don't match up - at best a copy body with a Fender neck at worst a total fake bitsa. I wouldn't bother.
