Yes any pics - interested in the Moog -
I've used Tru oil on a Shergold neck and it gave a great finish after only a few coats I gave it a satin type finish on the reverse and a glossier finish on the headstock fascia. I used cheap paper coffee filters to apply it as it's easier to control.

I bought this lovely bass off Marcus only last week, it plays, sounds and looks stunning. Alas I don't get on with the slab body owing to my shoulder and forearm injury. I've decided that despite wanting one of these for years I can't justify keeping it so here it is again folks! It is in the same condition as described in Mark's original thread and comes in a case. It even includes strap locks. I'm selling for what I paid for it and I'm not looking for trades or offers as this is very much a bargain. Pickup would be best unless you want to organise your own courier. The bass weighs around 9lbs and balances perfectly. The neck is very comfortable the nut width is 42mm. I use Promenade Music - just down the road in Morecambe. Despite doing a lot of business online they always have a decent stock of good quality basses thanks to Gary who works there and happens to be a bassist himself. I can't fault the staff and service there and there's none of that elitist rubbish of many shops - they welcome beginners and established pro musos equally - as indeed it should be. Guess we are spoilt here!

Yes - virtually impossible to get these days. Bloody useless though as they are worse than P bass ashtrays for getting in the way!

One thing I must say is that the Marathon in the listing does have an original ashtray cover at the bridge and that is unusual!

I think the price is a bit optimistic - best offer would be 2/3 of that at best. They are lovely instruments and scarce in unmodded condition but in today's market I'd only pay that for a Marathon 6 or 8 string. Marathon 4s go for between £260 - £490, OK the finish on many is poor but that's one of the quirks of Shergold - still contemplating a Bass Doc refinish on mine!
