1. Looks to me like a lot of work for something that you couldn't play unless you upgraded everything.... which is missing the point. Very niche.
2. Yuck! Wouldn't mind the neck though.
3. It does look nice though... well it might if he bothered to clean it.
4. It's amazing how much they go for once you take the manhole cover pg off.
5. absentmindeduk - dude I have a feeling posts questioning a guys prices are to be kept to PM.
6. I've had one of these up for sale for a while, it might help to know that these also work with other brands (Ampeg for example) type bump.
7. Sacrilege The whole point to a '51 RI is retro styling. If you bang a modern bridge on it you risk messing it up entirely. ... ahem... IMHO. Wilkinson do a decent thru body, twin brass saddle version of the '51 Fender job that swivels (oh yes :brow:) adding an extra dimension to setting intonation. I have the top loader version on Betty (see sig). Ok they are a little bit fancier than the plain original but they retain the overall look and function well. Alternatively, fit modern bridge "xyz" then bung on a '50's ashtray over it to hide it. The quiet E string is annoying if you get one. Rumour has it that the poles are weakened on purpose to emulate a pup that is over 50 years old - who knows. Test you pole pieces with something small but magnetic (say a paper clip) if your E pole feels substantially weaker (takes less effort to pull off) than the rest then it's tattied. With the money you saved from not buying a Badass I recommend getting a Lollar pup flown over or maybe a Lindy Fralin (slightly cheaper). LF even to a split single which might excite if you have hum issues or fancy sounding a bit more trad P. HTH
8.
... Markbass 104hf 4x10 cab inc case priced at £700 (new 850 from GAK). ..
Hi mate, just FYI that's a Standard 104HR not a 104HF.
9. We got there in the end eh?
10. Ah crap and I was just about to do a sound clip for Dood. They sound bitchin' with a stingray. Well done platypus.. score.
11.
God yeah!! I'd be tempted to buy, just to keep! A nice rarity!
He he me too.... and I already have one.
12. Holy sh*t that cheap for a Mk1!
13. Hey cheers for the Boss serial decoder link - never seen it before. I've just realised that the SYB-3 I bought off the bay last year has had the serial removed. Bugger!
14. Got a chunky bridge off Simon. In the spirit of seasonal cheer Si sent it FOC with a small donation to BC. Arrived quick sharp and magnificently wrapped. Cheers mate.

17. A headed headless. Those pups look cool.
18. Bought a Shuker off Geof. He was kind enough to accept a deposit then wait for me to release funds by selling a cab. Had UPS not completely fecked up the delivery this would have been a faultless deal. Apparently, next day delivery only means that if the driver can be bothered. Although he's an east coast lowlander Geof tore into them like a west highland terrier and wouldn't let go until they finally delivered it. Exemplary effort by himself. Was in constant daily contact with me. Oh and is one of the few guys around that actually knows how to wrap a bass properly for posting. Many thanks mate.
19.
look what santa left me..i wonder what it is
Snap!
20. That's the spirit.
21. What matters is how it sounds out front. Walk out as far as your lead will let you, if it's screaming turn down. If it's just onstage that's the problem then tough... get the drummer to turn it down a notch then everyone will hear themselves fine. Often a crap onstage sound means a great FOH.
22. It does look pretty... I'm not sure I buy the guff about "the wife got me another bass therefore this has to go" as he has quite a few different makes of bass spare parts in his previously bought items. Who knows? Anyway here's the original auction where he bought it for 350 a month ago.
23. That was fun. What I got kinda reminded me of the percussion song in Les triplettes de Belleville.
