1. It ain't called Parcelfarce for nothing. Following my earlier post I have to add though that I was sent a bass over the xmas/new year holls using interparcel and it was massively late. The weather was pretty bad then but the lateness was more down to the DHL driver that interparcel passed the package over to not worrying his arse about getting it to me on time more than anything else. Still it arrived in one piece.
 2. +1 for interparcel. Unlike some competitors, you can insure the package for whatever you want.
 3. Good luck for this. That tune is an epic. Have you a link for the lass' youtube vid?
 4.
And i have a 51p with Ti's strung though the body and have encountered no problems whatsoever...and yes. they are more flexy than La Bellas, but i prefer the sound of the La Bellas to the TI's, as said above, the TI's are VERY middy.
+1
 5.
It's such a well thought out bass, everything seems synergistic.
Does "synergistic" mean "rock hard sex"?.... Because that's what this bass looks like to me.
 6. I have TI's and Status Hotwires on 2 very similar through-body P basses (one a Fender the other a Shuker). Both sets are tops but for me the TI's are overly aggressive for flats. The Status Hotwires ironically are not as "hot", have a fuller bottom end and are more silky on you fingers. Save a few bob and try out some Statii first and see what you think.
 7.
Sorry to have confused anyone, but I removed my original post following the post below, as I did'nt want to upset anyone:-
QUOTE (Ou7shined @ Feb 15 2010, 10:32 AM) Huh? Surely all that should have been done before you won it.
Anyway, to clarify, I "won" the bass and had originally aske if anyone living in the area of the seller would be willing to inspect the bass for me to ensure that it is what it was advertised to be and I offerred a fee for doing this. In the event I have received this email from the seller:- hi thanks for buying my guitar. When will you be paying so I can get it posted out to you. many thanks - bigjackjack to which I have replied:- thanks for your email i would prefer to pay by paypal and have the bass posted but in order to do this I need some more photos from you of the bass so that I can satisfy myself that the bass is genuine and has all the features that would be on a fender bass with a serial number 307018 could you therefore send me more photos to include:- 1. Headstock rear and front 2. Body front and rear 3. Body with pickguard taken off 4. With neck taken off body, neck body cavity, body end of neck. thanks very much to date I have not received a reply hope that this clarifys matters
I can't see how anyone (other than the seller) could have been upset by your original post. I honestly wish you all the best with this and hope you end up with a beaut of a bass but I'm a little worried by what you're saying. Putting the word "won" in parenthesis twice now implies that you view this as a temporary situation - the fact is you have definitely won it. And secondly by submitting a bid to win the bass and winning it you have entered into a binding contract with terms already set in stone - you cant turn around and say that the sale will only go ahead if he supplies pictures - your opportunity to look at pictures has past. You are best to go head and pay up as required by the contract. If you end up being dissatisfied the procedure is - contact the seller, if he's a dodger he won't reply, then go to the dispute process. You are definitely protected by PayPal to a maximum amount - it used to be £500 but it might be different now.
 8. lol I must compliment your wife. She certainly has a fine pair there.
 9.
<snip></snip> <edit> It makes me and Mr Ou7shined look rather foolish when someone deletes their post!
Like I need any extra help in that dept John. I wasn't having a pop either Gareth, it was just that your post suggested a degree of nonchalance at the binding contract you have entered into by winning it. I'm sure all your questions will be answered if and when you receive the bass. I hope you don't disappear from this thread entirely as apart from keeping it interesting by having a BCer purchase the bass and post their experience of the deal, you also have the opportunity to either clear the name of a good seller or bust a dodgy one for the benefit of the rest of us.
 10. Huh? Surely all that should have been done before you won it.
 11. No probs.
... i always for it was strat haha...
I couldn't make sense out of that bit until I read it out in Scouse.
 12. I knew there had to be a reason.
 13. I've bought water-slide decals off him before. Found him to be a good bloke, even put him in my favourite sellers list. It seems like an odd answer considering he's sold so many guitars and parts and you'd therefore think he'd know what he's talking about.
 14. I've never liked red basses and don't really like rosewood.... but that bass looks hot.
 15.
oh sorry, i meant the phrase "strat for cash" (i think) meaning not flush and you'd have to prize the penny from my fingers haha Clumsey me to say that on a guitar site >_< i do have a tele copy for sale though, got a dent but plays and sounds well.
I think you'll find the phrase is "strapped for cash" (hence mistahbenn's witty retort) but if you wacky kids say "strat" nowadays then so be it. Innit boyeee. Strapped
 16. That's a quite beautiful array. I used to have a Jackhammer - surprisingly good for bass.
 17.
... and a noodle on his Yammies thrown in with the deal ...
I hope to god that's not a euphemism.
 18.

QUOTE (Ou7shined @ Feb 10 2010, 12:50 PM) Actually, not as irrelevant as you might think Dooder. hint Did they keep the 121mm position? edit : fixed link
Yeah and I don't think they have thumbrests either, or 4 bolt necks!? Could be interesting, although the neck looks a bit pasty in the neckplate photo Si
Uh? You've quote me from a different thread.
 19. Hi. What fretboard does yours have?
 20.
Beware, the neck has 21 frets on the 'upside down' one.
22 hactually
 21.
Hi guys, Not totally relevant to the OP - but I thought you might be interested in seeing that, on my Fender Power Jazz Bass Special (1989) the P pup is actually the 'wrong way round' in comparison to 'normal' P basses! The picture is of an old rig set up - maybe a rig I should never have sold! But that's another story!!!
Actually, not as irrelevant as you might think Dooder. hint :brow: Did they keep the 121mm position? edit : fixed link
 22. Ah bugger! It was late. Ultimately I blame my gay spell-checker : r o g u e rogue rogue rogue rogue rogue rogue rogue
 23. Be interesting if you get to view it. It looks a bit fresh in the pics and the listing is sus.
 24. I'm getting more reports of 121mm from elsewhere. Trawling the statistics I think I see a pattern forming here. I have done what I need to do now so thanks everyone for your assistance. Keep 'em coming though let's see if we can turn up a rouge model.
