  1. I use YOUTUBE for inspiration...find a lesson by Scott or Mark Smith and use it to expand the repertoire and knowledge base.
  2. .. to some lucky b'stard...🥰🤣
  3. Replacement pickups for my Kawai. More photos to follow.
  4. I was forced down the route of replacing the pickups as the output on the bridge unit was significantly lower than the neck. My local tech is unavailable due to a cancer diagnosis, local luthier in recovery so doesn't want to take on anything that isn't straightforward. TBH I feel like I've paid a premium for less tonal range.
  5. I ordered some ACTIVE pickups for my Kawai - the original pickups had 9 (yes 9) wires going to various parts of the existing original preamp. I don't understand the wiring diagram at all. Local luthier found it confusing. Does this look right? The new pickups only have two wires. I can post other photos (pickups themselves) to make more sense if required.
  6. I had one for a while, based on recommendations from the likes of Nick Smith ( @doctor_of_the_bass). Amazing tonal range, great neck but weighed in well above what is acceptable. I considered passing it to @Andyjr1515 and having it chambered to reduce the weight but eventually sold it to a fella in Australia.
  7. I played a headless version of this at LBGS a few years ago, before the company built it's reputation. I was very impressed. I reckon this could be underpriced...not too many of these about. GLWTS
  8. if you can get this repaired, you are easily doubling (or three times that, if you hold it for longer) the initial price. So £7k it is then..
  9. Love a green bass...jealous on so many levels.
  10. Glad this came up... As a fairly recent recruit to the Yamaha fold (I blame @AndyTravis) I have been lusting after one of these for a while now. TBH those that I have seen were a bit more than I wanted to pay, even though they're held, in general, in high regard. My "solution" was to buy the pedal of the same name (twice) but haven't had the opportunity to try one at any volume. I'll let you know if/ when I get the chance.
  11. Martin has custom wound a set of pick ups for me. Pickups for the Kawai F1B/F2B are unique dimensions so if/when somebody buys @kudlaty.bass's bass let me know if you're interested in a spare.

  14. I had the drummer from the band servicing my boiler earlier. Likes a chat....
  15. Love a green bass...can't do Maple boards. GLWTS
  16. When I was at school my Art teacher was called Ms Peerless....just saying
  17. I hate you both!! I've got Jaydee GAS again....even though I rarely took any of three I had out (far too precious).
  18. I think that you're making a good choice trying that Trace Elliot.
  19. I'm a BIG Trace Fan, currently own at least 6 I believe, and for the money they can't be beat. I maintain that amps didn't get better, they just got lighter. I'd be surprised if the Trace Elliot doesn't give you the sound you're after.
  20. Rubber washers?
  21. The place is filled with villains and thieves... I remember when the streets of London were lined with gold - all of it has been stolen now...😉😉
  22. Looks good...but there's something missing... Where the new bass project?? 😉😉
  23. Bass is in Italy but only for sale to UK residents.....am I right to be cynically suspicious? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403942791730?hash=item5e0cddda32:g:~vUAAOSwSdRjTADG&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoEozJ6fb8Vvxh9PjUdVa3uTF%2FAWWO%2FiAOgD9SH6Eh%2BRFMUwSYom0gTTVj0oSivCChs3W%2B%2FDSToyCKhujjhSDeKzaCfcJGoi3HyD7LbZe7K5QeE%2F7Ow8lblqXfP%2BAoA%2FCDFt6vMpdBJICnWHtlrfo%2FlcfPp0LJluKV9lHGkGjFA%2Fqs40G10%2BcWGumP4E6CxPU7AhdZX6O5hYT1PUxIFYDAQw%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9aVkYH-YA
  24. Lots of progress already... Following with interest
  25. This would be a great buy for @Gary Bloomfield who was asking about a first bass in the Introductions thread.
