Glad this came up... As a fairly recent recruit to the Yamaha fold (I blame @AndyTravis) I have been lusting after one of these for a while now. TBH those that I have seen were a bit more than I wanted to pay, even though they're held, in general, in high regard. My "solution" was to buy the pedal of the same name (twice) but haven't had the opportunity to try one at any volume. I'll let you know if/ when I get the chance.

I think that you're making a good choice trying that Trace Elliot.

I'm a BIG Trace Fan, currently own at least 6 I believe, and for the money they can't be beat. I maintain that amps didn't get better, they just got lighter. I'd be surprised if the Trace Elliot doesn't give you the sound you're after.

Another vote for buying used - you can pick up some serious bargains if you scout the market place here, Gumtree, Preloved and eBay. IIRC there's a used G&L lefties on Gumtree for a good price. Probably a better first bass than most of us started on.

I can confirm that this works perfectly having it on all three of my AJR builds. Much better system than screws, which I regularly lose.
