1. You're not obliged to offer a warranty. Ask him to bring it back for a full refund if he's that bothered.
2. If memory serves, it's not a full valve amp. It's a very early hybrid, can't remember the configuration though. There was something very odd about the preamp that Mr. Foxen discovered but can't remember what it was. Oh well, it sounds boss so never mind!
3. I had one for a short period (maybe this is the same one?) which I had Mr. Foxen look at for me as it had a few problems when I got it. Massive amounts of bass on tap and although there's not much treble available, the mids really shine through and you can nail vintage tone. Loads of volume too, surprisingly so! Is there a jack socket in the back? If so, it'll be my old one. They were originally manufactured with an attached speaker cable which was a bit dodgy. Miss it a little bit actually, sounded like nothing else!
4. Never sat down and listened to them/him. A lot of my friends like them/him and think that I too would enjoy given that I like a lot of northern bands. Where should I start?
5.
I just don't get this type of ambiguous response either. Why couldn't you simply have said he was, but he isn't anymore? We're not all party to information relating to an individual's membership; there's thousands of people here...how was I supposed to know the status of one member? Sheesh.
Apologies
6. He was for about two minutes before he got horribly insulted by forum regulars and decided to not come back.
7. Yeah, Earthquaker Devices Sea Machine is the most mental chorus I've ever used! Can go from beautiful shimmer to outrageous self-modulating, feed backing noise box.
8.
Isn't Mani a member here?
Lol
9. I had a 6 string single-cut Peanut once and really enjoyed it. Sounded as naked as it's possible for a bass to sound and was very lightweight. In the flesh they're much more appealing; they don't seem to photograph very well at all!
10. My realistic dream bass is a Yamaha 2024x, this Fodera is my unrealistic dream bass! The best PJ out there.
11. I would love to watch Sting play and sing up close. Love him to pieces! Great player and great singer
12. Would love to but actually aiming to buy a house for my 30th instead! GLWTS
13. I use Beeswax once a year. No idea if it's good or bad but I get a nice sheen on the fretboard and it buffs out super smooth.
14.
She won't actually have her 30th until November, but who's counting?
Me, because I turn 30 in November!
15. Cup of tea and a bowl of cereal for me.
16. Yeah the Sims pups are pretty special. Having two pickups that can both switch between split coil, single coil and humbucker is pretty special. Each setting sounds remarkably different and the switching system could not be easier to understand. Certainly a Do-It-All pickup.
17. I think most high-end instruments don't actually get used that much. Never seen anyone down the Frog and Twat with a Ritter or Fodera. In fact, come to think of it, out of all the gigs I've ever been to (theatre, major label, TV etc) I've never seen a Roscoe, MTD, Ritter, Fodera, Ken Smith etc. I've once seen a Sadowsky Jazz being used (Jason Newstead). It's a frightful shame.
18. I had a good blast with this amp and was very impressed indeed. The gain control added loads of extra textures to the sound rather than adding fizziness or crackling. Small thing, but the knobs felt really good and solid and I found the simplicity on the EQ refreshing. Flightcase/construction very solid too.
19.
I think ultimately this is pretty much all spot on. I think I may have to compromise a bit here too for sure. When I stood in the guitarist's spot and played an open E the bass was so overpowering I literally felt disorientated and a bit sick so however good it sounded or front I wouldn't expect my band mates to deal with that!
Jesus Christ, how loud are you playing? Maybe just cut the bass a bit and turn down a little?
20. Changes with the weather but here's the five I'm thinking of at the moment: Chuck Rainey (Motown legend) Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) Chi Cheng (Deftones) Josh Thompson (Waking Aida) Roger Waters (Pink Floyd/solo)
21. Yeah that tangerine drizzle cake was bloody lovely! Great afternoon; nice to meet some new guys and also really impressed with those new Sims pups. Can't wait for next year Nice one Mick!
22. Will be there! Travelling down from Derbyshire so may be a little late
