1.
I'll also throw in the parts from a GS422 B so you can switch between a dual stand and a tripe stand for no extra charge
Typo
2.
Nice looking bass! But what an odd pickup position.
Like a Vox Standard. Not conventional positioning, but it seems to work well
3. Nice paint, horrible shape... IMO.
4. The problem with listening to these is that I find it completely demoralising... :|
5. I nabbed Alan's bitsa Westone. And that makes four times we've dealt... which should tell its own story. Nice guy, all went well, and I'd happily trade again. Thanks Alan
6. Interesting... How does that work acoustically? I don't get it.
7. That's perverse enough to be cool.
8. I like it. It has a Shergold-ish look, somehow.
9. I bought Eddie's TGI hard case. Thoroughly nice guy, all went well, and I am happy, apart from being jealous of his writing talent
10. Not sure about this. It looks overpriced to me, even given that they are rare and sought-after. Also, I'm not sure that there isn't a crack in the back of the neck, exactly where the end of the trussrod would bear. If I was bidding I'd want another pic; the fourth one here is not reassuring, to me. 11. I reckon that lower horn digs in something fierce... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wild-Rose-Music-Custom-Electric-Bass-Guitar-with-Active-Pickups-/261776500586?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cf318676a
12. Sorry to see him go. (Never knew he was Welsh.)
13.
I would recommend, in any case, to adopt a 'worst case scenario' attitude and take precautions such that, if there's a total loss of service (virus, house fire, burglary, whatever...) any and all of your information (software and their 'keys', projects and files etc; most especially anything unique that can't be bought...) is stored very regularly somewhere safe (off-site..? Cloud..?...) 'Ghosted' partitions, back-up software, regular duplicating to another medium... If none of these precautions are actually invoked, it will be because there's been no 'incident'. One can be sure, though, that if there is no back-up plan, an incident will be very troublesome. This, independent of platform, OS, or such. It's all too often neglected. Just sayin'.
This. Make backups, folks. Really.
14. When I were a lad, and my dad played double bass, you used to see fifth-string add-on kits on some players' four-strings. It's a long time ago, but I wonder if they might still be in production? I guess you'd need a new bridge and tailpiece as well as the added tuner on the side of the pegbox, so it's probably not DIY unless you're quite skilled.
15.
I think Glen Moore (Oregon) tunes his bass in fifths (a four-string). It's essentially cello tuning, isn't it?
Yes, standard cello tuning is CGDA.
16. I think this was made for BCer oldslapper. If I had space and money...
17.
I think the moveable pickup idea is still being utilised, but can't for the life of me remember by whom.
Gibson Grabber, out of production in 1980s but I think Gibson were doing a limited-edition run?
18. Congrats on improving. I wish I was... Headphones will make your neighbours happier
19.
I think it used to be mine
Did you get it from Roland Rock? because if so then I think it was mine before that .
