1. Seeing as how I'm now the proud owner of a Barefaced Vintage, I no longer have a use for these superb cabs. Hartke 410XL Manufacturers blurb: http://www.samsontech.com/products/product...5&brandID=3 It's been well used but is perfect working order, the only defects are that the fabric covering has become a bit 'fluffy' and the 'XL Series badge is missing from the grill but this is purely cosmetic. 400W, 8 Ohm £120 Hartke 4.5XL. Manufactures blurb: http://www.samsontech.com/products/product...4&brandID=3 This is much newer than my 410 and is in perfect condition both functionally and cosmetically. This comes with a fitted Roqsolid cover. 400W, 8 Ohm £190 £300 for the pair. Edit: I forgot to add that these will punch the enamel off your teeth and make even drainpipe jeans flap. I have no access to pics at the moment but will get some if required. Pick up or meet would be better as these cabs are heavy and would cost a considerable amount to courier. I will however send at buyers expense. Trades? A half decent 500W+ Amp head would suit me down to the ground. Cheers Pete
2. I've done this to my 'new edition' Trace 1210 combo with no problems. The whole head unit is encased, which is great. I just have to be careful of the controls getting knocked (when in it's original postion, the box overhangs at the front and back)
3.
Get the BFB Vintage in the For sale section.
Absolutely. I've just come down from a rig consisting of two Hartke 4x10 XLs and my new Vintage easily blows them away. I even had to turn down!!
4. In the manual for my Trace it says it's fine. Have a look in the book first
5. Oh, I so wish you hadn't put this up (Looks around for the phone number of a kidney surgeon)
6. Looking at Jon Shukers website, he can do a bolt on standard from £725. It might be worth dropping him a line.
7.
Looks like you were lucky Bilbo Parcel Monkey Reviews: one star out of 5 from 100+ reviews Typical response "horrendous customer relations dont buy 24 hour del as it can be anything up to 5 days like i've exp no phone number no reply to emails - until it was delvd funnily enough bunch of cowboys "
I've used Parcel Monkey twice with no problems at all. What you've got to remember about them is they are not actually a courier company. They farm out the orders to other companies; so, when you've put your order to them, you deal direct with the company they've given the job to. Pete
8. Just thought you might get more action in the For Sale Forum is all
9.
Here's a go at Tempus Fugit by Yes. A few mistakes here and there. I recorded it yesterday while waiting for mrs silddx to get ready before going to the Fat Duck with some friends, more of which later ..
Right Nige, that's done it. I'm off to find me a bonfire. Brilliant mate. Pete
10. I'll say it again Rockbox in Northallerton. I'm now in Lincolnshire but I'll always consider travelling back up there if there's something I need. The guys in there are just superb. They don't have a massive bass stock but what you see in the place is only about a third of what he actually has, you just have to ask.
11. Not really. I started out with the Laney Richter stuff and as hard as I tried, I couldn't get a decent noise out of it. (It may have been me of course )
12.
Time for a Mert update I guess: Eden Nemesis NA650 into BFB Vintage. Lovely
Oh stop showing off Mert I can't wait for my cab to get here.
13. You could also try these guys http://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/
14. I have a brass nut fitted in my Shuker and I couldn't really say that it sustains more or less than any of my other basses. Certainly, it doesn't ring any longer than my Stingray.
15. I guess I must be cheating as I drive an Espace. I can get pretty much most of my 5 piece bands gear in the back (that includes my two 4x10s and two 18" PA cabs). The drummer has to take his own gear though. Edit: Can't wait to get my Vintage, it'll go some way to saving the suspension
16.
I'm, too, am guilty. Picked these up over the years, I rather like them.
Ahh, another Eggle fan. See? I'm not alone.
17. Frankfurt? I don't suppose you met my friend Iain? He owns the music shop in Northallerton.
18.
Would be good to see you two there, pete!
Why, thank you kind sir. We'll make every effort to get there and if my Barefaced Vintage is done by then I'll bring it along.
19. Another OBBM fan here I've not tried the Cornish leads but the price puts me off. If you go with OBBM you know you're going to get quality at a good price. (and superb service too)
20. Colour me and her interested
