To me it's fairly simple - if you want something you buy it, if you don't want it, you don't. If you can't afford it, then save until you can. No debate to be had. Question - Do the prices of Foderas, Alembics etc directly affect your life? If they don't, why are you whinging about it? What does it matter?

Yes, keep it. I had an SG1200 that I sold back to the original owner back in the 80's. I'm kicking myself now, it was a superb instrument.

GAK do them for £1048. That's the place I always use as an example as they tend to be the most reasonably priced (that I've found)

Shuker = Porsche 911 - fast, curvy and stands out in a crowd. Stingray = Ford Mustang - Not so fast but loud and aggressive as hell. Fender Jazz = Cavalier SRI - Reasonably quick and comfortable over long distances.

If it is 4 Ohm already you would have to change the speaker to an 8 Ohm one and then wire an output socket in parallel with it. Not hugely difficult but I can't see the speaker being that cheap. An alternative would be to get a power amp to power the extension cab and take an output from the D.I out (if it has one)

Wrong, wrong and thrice wrong. I have a Barefaced Vintage - feather light but sounds absolutely massive.
