1. This is what happened to us, our guitarist is getting more and more frustrated by it. Guess I won't be selling it on the boards here!
2. Yep, I *may* have taken the opportunity to upgrade our tops to the new TS312 with a lot more headroom and a bigger voice coil I'll report back. I know what you mean about losing eq and FX controls but it's an interesting idea about using the UI12 as a sort of FX processor - cheers!
3. Cheers EBS_Freak. We've had a few dropouts at recent gigs and there's a general groundswell of opinion that having physical faders provides quicker and more reliable access for between song adjustments (our guitarist sings a few songs so needs his volume adjusting up and down accordingly). We don't have the luxury of running with a dedicated sound person so any adjustments have to be done on the fly, usually by me. I'm going to hang on to the UI12 but get an analogue desk to see if we find that the loss of more granular eq and effects is offset by ease of operation at gigs. We've got Alto speakers and I've been very impressed for the money (unfortunately the budget won't stretch to RCF/QSC) so I think I'm going to give their 1604 live desk a go.
4. Good point. We don't need power and thanks for the tip. Might be willing to consider the Mackie 806 or 1606 as a halfway house that cuts out the WiFi problem, does anyone have any experience of using one?
5. Having tried to switch to a digital mixer (soundcraft UI12) the band and I are ready to go back to analogue to avoid WiFi drop outs and the faff associated with not being able to just press a physical mute button/adjust a fader. We need: 8 XLR inputs minimum. 3 aux outs for various monitors/in ears - these need to be individually mixable and preferably XLR rather than 1/4 jack. Some form of built in FX/eq - nothing ground breaking but enough to properly eq a kick drum etc. Budget is hopefully around £500 -600 but I honestly don't know if we can get what we want for that so please throw your advice, opinions & recommendations my way. Cheers!
6. They are, the kids are doing a fine relicing job on ours. Is yours any good for metal?
7. Me too, same offer buddy.
8. I did have to fret a few bars with the neck of a bottle of Becks when I mistimed a relocation. Actually, I caught the eye of the bloke it belonged to and gave it back.
9. Spent a considerable amount of time at a gig a few months ago playing open strings whilst moving drinks from the sub. Not a single person noticed that their glass had been relocated. I reckon a couple of plywood triangles with speaker pole holes in the top are on the list of stuff to make.
10. I took a chance on a Maruszczyk Jake 5p on the for sale boards on here a couple of years ago. Haven't wanted anything else since. If I'd had the choice I'd probably have gone for the haussel pups instead of the delano but it plays beautifully.
11. Earlier in the year I contacted a load of new (to us) venues with our details and availability. As expected I didn't hear back from most of them - that's generally the form for getting gigs. I know the score and try to chase up and personally visit as many places as I can but can't make it everywhere. Today I've had messages from 3 of them saying that their band has pulled out and are we available?
12. Bought a phone from Matthew from the sell anything board. Super easy, even though I had to shoot off to beat the snow. Thanks!
13. The full propaganda rig - backdrop and 2 pull up banners (the rest of the band call them the ‘Nuremburgs’).
14. We use a combination of a traditional backdrop and a couple of the pull up exhibition style ones. The pull ups are miles quicker and easier to set up. They were made for us by Al at Signs by AlYerPal (he's on Facebook under that business name). We provided our own designs but he can help with that too. Prices are very good, I've recommended him to quite a few folk who've all been very happy.

GILLY

Will bought a cab from me. Ideal as a buyer, great comms and very helpful to deal with. Thanks
16. Cheers Adam. Gigged with it last weekend, whilst it's not as loud it rounds off the tone and suits the band much better. Probably only me who notices though! Glad you're enjoying the SC, it's a great cab.
17. For sale (no trades thanks unless it's an oly white 5 string P bass type) my G2 Barefaced Compact. A brilliant cab, you get out what you put in, it's stupidly light and ridiculously loud. This is the gen 2 15" speaker version. I've owned it from new and it's in excellent condition. I've given it the once over and can only find one tiny chip which I've tried to show in the pics. It comes with a roqsolid cover which is in good condition and has been used to keep the cab in whenever it's not in use. The handle is in good condition and I've also got a few spare feet that I'll throw in. I'm only selling because the retro Two 10 tone suits my band better. You can hear some sound clips of the cab as part of my gig rig at my band FB page facebook.com/jumpthesharkband. I'd much rather sell via collection or meet up as I don't have suitable packaging to ship. Based in Sale, South Manchester. Thanks for looking.
18.
Unfortunately the 5-string version is currently just an idea for the future.
My wallet just heaved a sigh of relief. Looks like the kids will be getting Xmas presents this year after all
19. Have done, they've been very helpful. Cheers!
20. I have a 5 string version of this bass that I took a chance on when it came up on the for sale board here. If this one is anywhere near as good then it's a belter and well worth a look. GLWTS
21. I've just picked up a used two 10 and it has a bit of the dreaded tolex peel. I've searched here but can't find anything and the other bass forum mentions contact cement but a quick Google comes up with regular cement. Does anyone have any advice about how to fix this? At the moment I'm thinking 3m 77 or 90 contact adhesive. Cheers!
22. OK, I don't do this much so be gentle. A pub standard with my R-400 set pretty flat, contour at about 10 o'clock through a Barefaced compact (15") and super compact. Maruszczyk PJ bass - full P, J at about 20%. Yes, I hit every gear related branch as I tumbled from the Basschat GAS tree. No DI - just a pretty decent unidirectional mic. 23. We've played the same pub in Cumbria on Halloween for the last four years. It's the village pub for our drummer. They don't have regular bands on so we tend to draw a crowd from the surrounding areas for a bit of an event. It also means that we chuck in all the pub rock classics including this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/tytbb4uzjoa5d4x/2015-10-31%2023.43.43.mp4?dl=0 We've always dressed up, but it took the locals a couple of years to get into it and there are more and more costumes each year now.
