  1. bump for a quick sale at £180 ono
  2. Hooray for Modern Player Jazzes then! Can't wait to gig it. Currently parked on my settee where i can just look at it.....
  3. Cheers Daytona Rik - I've succumbed to getting another Fender so I really have to move this one on finally to pay for it.
  4. Bump for a new price £180 ono
  5. Hi just to echo some of the views here - I bought an older version of the Modern Player Jazz this weekend (the one with gloss finish and Classic Vibes-esque brass bridge saddles) and it seems to be really good. Build quality, fit and finish seems very decent. The neck is very comfortable, with proper medium jumbo frets and modern radius (unlike the Classic Vibes, which put me off them to be honest). It's a bit weighty, but the sound is good and really really loud compared with my 1995 USA P Bass, which itself is really loud anyway. Still tweaking the pickup height to get it at a point where im hearing some wood instead of just hearing the pickups. It's obviously not as good as the USA, but for the price it seems like a really really good back up, which is very playable and with a good range of sounds, and I love the look of a vintage-styled jazz pimped with big pickups! Due to gig it for first time next week as a spare to my regular USA Fender, but first impressions are very good indeed.
  6. Incredible collection - GLWTS!
  7. That's beautiful - have a bump
  8. Cheers for the update on the sounds Andy - much appreciated!
  9. Hi Andy - I can't figure out what these sound like exactly - can you shed some light? The two main demos on Youtube both seem to have quite an overdriven sound - is that how the bass sounds when you dig in then? Or is the guy using some distortion. Love the look - just can't figure out how they sound! I play a regular P bass now so kinda thought it would be roughly the same ballpark.
  10. Don't suppose you're up the Midlands way ever are you?
  11. happy ending all round then
  12. I'm likely buying a new bass before the week is out - in which case i'll be needing to shift this one to recoup some of the expense! so come on and make me a sensible offer in short - bump
  13. Hi mate - have emailed you
  14. "have a good weekend all" bump...
  15. Cheers bagsieblue for the kind words! It's been a very reliable, comfortable, great sounding, well built bass. But i can't get another Fender without shifting some other gear first, so this one will have to go!
  16. is this still available?
  17. Whereabouts are you buddy?
  18. Nice guitar sir - my bro had one and it was a belter. In short, have a bump!
  19. Thanks The Greek Hopefully i haven't wildly misjudged the price (i've based it around what i originally paid for it on BC plus a good set up and padded gig bag thrown in) but happy enough to amend if i have!
  20. Hello all I bought this secondhand during the summer as part of a credit note i had with a shop - but i'm not really using it so time to sell. Its a Fender GA43s Grand Auditorium sized acoustic guitar, which were made for a limited time only by Fender in Korea in the early 2000s. It's very nicely made, with abalone binding on the neck, sound hole and the Fender headstock logo itself, spruce top and deeply figured mahogany back and sides. It has Grover machine heads, and is very loud and lively acoustically. The Grand Auditorium body shape seems broadly as wide as a dreadnaught, but with a slimmer waist. I bought a Fishman Neo D single coil passive sound hole pickup to go with it too, which I can include in the sale if needed. Currently strung with brand new Martin bronze .12s It doesn't have a case, so collection or meet up preferred within reasonable distance of Leicester. £250 ono inc the spanking new Fishman pickup, or £220 ono without. Shame I haven't found more use for it really, but I'm selling this and my SGC Nanyo SB310 bass to put some money towards another Fender Precision or Jazz bass instead (now THAT I would use!)
