  1. I think you’re right, and having a VM Jazz and being knocked out by how good it is this is a seriously good bargain.
  2. Given the variety of sounds we’ve heard on the demos so far on this thread I really like the look of this. Each demo is pushing me further towards it, aaarggh.
  3. I like that, very well mixed & balanced imo. I especially like the guitar sound, it’s nice to hear a guitar that isn’t way over the top driven/delayed/reverbed, think he’s nailed the Andy Taylor vibe there.
  4. Just bought the new Michael Monroe CD, One Man Gang and only 5 tracks in so far the verdict is its killer! Which is nice as I’ve got tickets to see him on 02 Nov.
  5. I had a Markbass 2x12, it wasn’t to my recall the NY version. It was however a very nice sounding cab, and very light/portable. I also noticed that you roll off the high end on your current set-up, well in my experience with Markbass cabs they have an in-built high end roll off so they should suit you very well.
  6. Unless the style of playing used doesn’t work for the band in question why change?
  7. Genius, he managed to sound like Lemmy on an acoustic fretless.
  8. Not exactly one-trick, with the same strings and eq on my Para Driver that I use for my live work, just rolling off the tone control makes it sound a very different instrument.
  9. I liked them, did some good stuff that I thought was great but also some that I just can’t listen to.
  10. Whoever played bass on Seasons in The Sun, though I didn’t realise it at the time, then punk in general. A few obvious contenders being Sid Vicious (yes he wasn’t a great bassist but played for the best punk band and looked great), and JJ Burnell & Bruce Foxton who made the bass almost a lead instrument.
  11. Congrats, they`re decent little cabs and surprisingly full-sounding given their size. I`ve used them a couple of times - courtesy of friendly headlining band that I know fairly well.
  12. It’s pretty easy, use maple fretboards on guitars for use in Europe.
  13. Again showing it’s versatility. I’m getting severely tempted by this.....
  14. He hit him with wood, hrr, hrr.
  15. A but like a boogying Wilco Johnson methinks.
  16. Don’t forget they managed to fit George Michael and menstrual cycle into another of their songs.
  17. Good points Chris, and many apply to me as well, should have simply bought a Precision rather than trying to get that sound from other basses, and def should have practiced harder rather than being content to do ‘enough’.
  18. Nice one, it’s good to know of the companies who look after their customers, and even better when we find it’s a British one as it makes returning gear to be checked etc so much easier,.
  19. Although I’ve tinkered with guitar over the years I’m a bassist so would have done things pretty much the same I think in respect of musical instruments.
  20. Nice one Pawel, has a bit of a Sixx AM feel about it - which is a def plus btw.
  21. We’re almost the same, I’m teetotal, the singer gets legless on 3 pints so goes on stage with his first, and the drummer drives to every gig so only has one after the gig. Punk rock at its finest!
  22. Or drunk/stoned 🤣
  23. My thoughts too, it looks a bit like a dog-log on the front doorstep to me.
  24. Take a listen to The Macc Lads, lyrical genius imo but after that any song sounds meaningful.
  25. I used to use TIs with a trebly/gnarly/driven sound. Ultimately I preferred steel rounds with that same sound but the TIs did sound good like that.
