Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine (band cover)
Lozz196 replied to yourfurryfiend's topic in Share Your Music
Very good job, the intro sounded just like Slash and when the rest of the instruments come in it’s so near to the original. No disrespect to your singer, but that’s probably the only point you realise it’s not actually GnR playing. -

Nice one Stew, you def have the right bass for the job!

Sold One nice 1987 EBMM 2 band eq Stingray with Spider hard case. Plays and sounds as you would expect. As per this era the neck is gloss finish, truss rod adjustment is at the headstock and the battery cover is silver. This is a players bass, it’s in good condition for a 34 year old instrument but it does show signs of life on the road. For comparison a Fender Road Worn shows much more wear & tear. As such I’ve priced this accordingly, pristine examples go for a lot more! The pic showing the wear on the back of the neck is around 7th to 9th fret. Weight is 4.75kg or 10lbs7oz Due to many threads detailing courier nightmares it’s collection/meet up only. No trades thanks.

Neil just bought a Jazz bass from me (gonna miss that one, I know it). Good comms, we did the obligatory - now it’s permitted - service station meet for the deal and in time honoured tradition had a good chat about bass/music etc. Recommended.

Volume and tone on full, if I need more from the bass I’ll hit it harder.

Not as question to ask of ladies but..

From age 48 to 54 was the most intensive gigging period of my life, in an originals band, including my first experience of overseas tours and festivals. Fairly lucky in that the punk/Oi scene is largely made up of people of a similar age. So don’t let age be a barrier. -
I loved that track by The Beatles, She’s Gonna Take a Giraffe.

I preferred the GR, it seemed to have more clarity.

Does Marcus Miller play Marcus Millers?

Fair play to him, I’m glad that my natural cynicism was misplaced this time. -

The cynic in me says maybe the amount of money he’s been paid to have his name associated with them? -
Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?

Great venue, have a good ‘un! -
Davie bought a Fender String Retainer from me. Good comms, swift payment, and advised once it was received, something which I always appreciate.

Good call, I could picture a Sweet tribute band using one of these.

My first question would be is through a gigging rig or a practice amp? I find that on my practice amp using my Hipshot Extender down to low D it doesn’t have that much clarity so can only assume what a low B would be like through it.

Definitely Chris, from what I’ve read how The Beatles were in their Hamburg days wasn’t that far removed from punk, which is my main area of music.

AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie (Band cover)
Lozz196 replied to yourfurryfiend's topic in Share Your Music
Good job done, agree you’ve left the right amount of room for the guitars, which for AC/DC is essential but some bassists don’t get their heads around that- 1 reply

Like that Crawford, has a similar feel to it as the Simple Minds stadium sound.

Currently watching the story of Elton Johns Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, very interesting and a fantastic album. -
Not sure about undeserved but on overdrive pedals I’d like to gear them with a touch of break up rather than full on. Additionally I’d like to see demos of pedals with Jazz or Precision type basses rather than coffee table type basses. Nothing against those basses, it’s just with a Jazz or Precision I can get an idea of how the pedal would sound for me, whereas demoed with a bass that I - and many I’d guess - have no experience of it’s difficult to gain an understanding of how the pedal would work for me.

Agree, I Saw Her Standing There is a good case to that. Once you get the hang of it it’s easy enough, but Macca sang lead vocals on that, not quite so easy doing both. I just watched a live clip of them doing it in 1963 and he doesn’t even look at the fretboard whilst playing.
