  1. Calling @Ashdown Engineering
  2. Yep, to make life easy I used to use the RM for rehearsals and the ABM for gigs.
  3. Many many purchases, all good & none bad, don’t think I could rate a “best” to be honest.
  4. I’d be looking at a Barefaced cab for this, the power of the amp would concern me unless I had it hooked up to a cab capable of handling it. I really liked the sound of the Super Midget when I heard one, much “bigger” sound than would be expected from a small cab.
  5. I did that with mine as well
  6. Yep, I used one of these with a MAG115 ext cab as a provided rig and it was really good & powerful sounding .
  7. I used the BOSS WL20 for similar reasons as @Nail Soup
  8. Looks great, recently done similar myself on a Precision.
  9. Sold Price reduction to £950 US 5 String Precision (2013) in good condition, only slight flaw is the tuning peg on the G is scuffed at the end. I’ve had the frets have professionally levelled & polished. Comes with a Comfort Strap and the end-pins installed on the bass, and a generic Armourdillo hard case. Weight is 4.57kg or bang on 10lbs, feels less with that Comfort Strap though. No trades or posting but am willing to meet halfway (within reason).
  10. I found that on bigger stages the ABM600 just has a better presence/heft to the sound, but I am talking the type of stages where you can be more than 20ft away from your amp/speakers. And with the 9-band eq there’s more toneshaping too.
  11. Congrats, I thought the same of the Player Precision that I had, much nearer in quality to the US models than would be expected. I thought I’d need to change the pickups but after a rehearsal realised no need.
  12. Wastrel, plenty of life still left in those!
  13. And it was all I expected and more. It was great to be out at a gig again, saw a lot of people I knew there, and the sound of the band themselves, well it could well be the best sound I’ve ever heard at a gig.
  14. Good call, I`ve found that I can hear every instrument much better when wearing my ACS plugs.
  15. As I’m going to see The Professionals tomorrow night I’ve been listening to them a fair bit recently.
  16. Ken!!
  17. I got a set at the start of this year as my current band is extremely loud. They take everything down to a sort of “fairly loud Sat morning CD” type volume, and I can clearly hear every instrument. I can even determine the pitch of my vocals without using a mic. I was a bit worried at the moulding/fitting session as it was uncomfortable and slightly painful but no issues with using the actual plugs themselves.
  18. That would be my suggestion too, great modular set-up.
  19. Fender already made them, the US Standard Precisions from 2013-16, no matter what other basses I try these are the best for me so that’s what my sig bass would be.
  20. Players are great but I found the neck to be quite slim feeling, so if the feel of the Classic 50s neck was a factor then the Player might not fit quite so well.
  21. Mark bought a Fender Deluxe Precision from me. Great comms throughout, we met at the obligatory motorway service station for the handover. Excellent transaction, recommended.

      • Thanks
  22. Aside from what I thought was a chunkier than usual neck pretty much nothing, it’s a good Precision but fairly similar to out of the box US Standards.
  23. Agree, I think the less than totally full on sound of Eddies Strat really worked with Lemmy bass sound, def the classic line up.
  24. Just bought a stunning US Precision from Jamie, from my fave 2013-16 range. Great comms throughout and a great bass. Collected it and we had a brief chat however my Mum was in the car so had to rush off rather than leave her sitting there. Good transaction, recommended.
  25. I think Ashdown, in the interest of sales would probably pay me to do the opposite 🤣
