  1. Thanks Martin, really appreciate it
  2. What screws did you use Martin, and where did you get them, as I think I’m going to do the same?
  3. Yes those times are fine for me
  4. If you mean the actual power block part it’s a fair bit smaller: 4.5” x (just less than) 2.5” x 1”
  5. Yep that’s the one
  6. Most of the companies that state they do a 70s sort of sound do this via a lesser wound pickup, thinking Fralin/Creamery here.
  7. Speakon to Speakon (just had a look at pics of them online).
  8. Matt is an awesome player
  9. Definitely. When my last band played Munich there was something very special about hearing the audience singing along to all the songs, especially given that it was the only time we played there and English not being their first language. Quite humbling actually.
  10. I’m doing the same with my new Ampeg SCRDI. High gain low blend gives a smoother sound on the eq, a better sound for fitting in the mix, lower gain higher blend gives better separation to highs & lows enabling the bass to stand out a bit more, though in each case the amount of gain/drive sounds the same.
  11. Are you sure it’s 1000 watts, rather than 500? I ask as they did make an LH1000 so would seem strange they didn’t match power to name so to speak. Even so, providing you don’t push the amp you’ll be fine, your ears will give up way before that cab will.
  12. The mention of them being a Rebellion type band makes me even more eager to find out who it is.
  13. Don’t know his music but am a major 24 fan so am very envious. Dammit! (That’s his characters fave curse btw).
  14. Well it did take some energy drinks to give me some get up & go on the drive there but as it was only my 2nd gig with the band I was high on natural enthusiasm. The gig was arranged before I joined the band so was a case of having to do it, and although I wouldn’t want to make a habit of it it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, I really thought I’d be near nodding off at that time.
  15. I like the markings, allows for very specific settings - and ones that can be noted/remembered easily as a result.
  16. If at all possible avoid 1am gigs, I’m pooped today following this mornings one.
  17. Really like that, add me to the list for when they’re ready to go.
  18. Wow, just wow
  19. Thanks for the tip, I wasn’t aware of that, certainly will make life easier 👍
  20. I think it’s harder to win over an audience with original material, even if they’re into the style you play.
  21. Just got in from my latest, an after-show gig at The Bear in Northampton. On at 1am - yes you read that right - for a 45min set. Made a change to be leaving home at 10pm to go to a gig. Went well, played well and a good crowd who had poured out of The Roadmender at 12:30. Given the late hour and potential drunkenness of the crowd I used my Mex Precision rather than US, and it was fine, sounded good and stayed in tune nicely. Only downside was M1 J15 was closed so had a bit of BBC a detour to get back on it via Milton Keynes. So 2 gigs in with this band now and am really enjoying it.
  22. Spot on, as the saying goes professionals built The Titanic, but amateurs built The Ark.
  23. They’ll be the original Compacts which were 15s. Darn fine cabs too!
