there both single and are both very good friends of mine both are fans of my playing as well in the band... and the one on the left announces us on stage before we perform...
They're both v nice.... but the one on the right looks particularly minxy!
 2. You lucky man.... I have a banana skin, a suitcase and an ironing board!
 3.
I have a pre- CBS fender pre. 1964, lovely tone, sunburst finish ( a bit scuffed over the years ) My second bass is a Hayman 4040 from early "70"s good action but very heavy.
Eh?!?
 4.
well read through all 19 pages had a heart attack when i finally made it to the end! already posted but heres some more up to date photos of me...
Sod any live pics..... who are the lovely laydeeeeeez?!?
 5.
Flea never played a MM on record apart from when using a 5....I think for BSSM he used a Spector?
Not sure which album but he definitely used a Spector NS2 on one or two of the earlier releases....
 6. Luckily, there's very little out there that takes my fancy! Having said that.... I wouldn't kick the following out of bed for eating biscuits: Gafbass's white 70's Jazz reissue (so I'm putting together my own!) Bassplace's white Wal Doctorofthebass's sunburst Spector NS2 Jensenmann's blueburst Spector NS2 If anyone has a Wal Mk1 'Geddy Lee' in black or a Mouradian I'd add them to the list too...
 7.
Firstly, I would much rather have one volume control, and one pick up mix control. This to be instead of the current seperate volume knobs, one for each PUP. Can I just get a guitar tech to sort this, or is it something best done by a Spector Specialist? Secondly, I get a very different sound from the low B string than the E. I'm not used to having a low B, so is this normal? It sounds more muffled, where as the E is like the other strings on this bass, very crisp. NB: This bass is amazing. I was a bit concerned that I was getting sucked in to a mass neurosis on Spectors, but I have to say, the popularity for Spectors is in my mind, well founded. Alas poor Warwick!
1) The wiring change shouldn't be a problem. Just take it to a reputable tech.... it should be quite straightforward. 2) Sounds like your B string may be a little dead. Could be a duff string in a set.... Change all your strings and try again. 3) Welcome to SpectorWorld!
 8.
sorry, slightly OT: I just realized how many Spector models are out there right now (yes, I´m a disinformed old fart). Could someone enlighten me where they all do differ? I have an older one from end 80s or early 90s, serial # is 1289. What are these called? NS4 or did they have a different name? Here´s a picture:
That is a Kramer era Spector NS2. A VERY nice bass you have there.... Let me know if you ever wish to part with it!
 9. Aaaaarghhh!!! You put a thumb rest on it!!!! Have a bump for a (nevertheless) great bass.....
 10. I love my SVT3 and it roars through a good 4ohm cab with no lack of power.... Through my Mesa Diesel 2x15 it shakes the room before it even gets to half volume!
 11. ....and again.... THANK YOU all, it takes two to make a clean, easy deal & you've all played your parts! (pun)
 12. I'd just like to thank ben for a clean and easy transaction. He bought a bass body off of me and sent payment quickly. His communication is polite and a credit to Basschat.
 13.
I'm just shipping mine off to a man in Essex who's promising to replace half of her in carbon graphite. I'm hoping she'll come back looking pretty and nice to touch.
Has she lost her legs and is having prosthetics fitted?!?
 14.
Ahh, interesting, (you can't tell, but Im stroking my imaginary beard right now lol) If I ever do buy one, I'll take your advice as soon as i can. What EMG's do you recommend? Zach
EMG35DC pickups running at 18v is what Rex uses....
 15. Ooo.... that's nice! Would love my Jackson Kip Winger or even a Spector in that colour
 16.
you guys have made me so happy, i'm only 17 but i got every single joke... to top it off i'd love to see all your wife's faces if they saw all this...
My wife loves this thread & thinks it's one of the most funny/outrageous things she's ever read!
 17. I used to have a Nightingale 'Harlequin' bass.....made by Bernie Goodfellow and Neil MacDonald in their workshop in Thornton Heath.... Lovely bass with superb action and a bold tone. Sold it to continue my Spector buying....
 18. The Rex Brown has a very punchy, slightly scooped tone due to the EMG-Hz pickups and circuit. For a more genuine growl/grind with more mids I'd recommend updating the pickups with full EMG's....
 19. Lovely bass..... classic looks!
 20.
Part of my Euphoria has to be caused by the clearance bargain price from Reverb of £499. Warwick, be very afraid!
Ah, they sh*t themselves many years ago..... that's why many people only look for old Streamers....
 21. As there's been so much interest in the recent amazing Spector deals at Reverb I thought I'd bump my Spector porn thread...... and attach a generic pic of the new Dark Cherryburst Spector ReBop DLX bass I've just received. A real picture of the 'actual' bass will follow at some point... EDIT Jan 2010: This bass has now been sold on purely because I need the money for a major bass purchase. Didn't want to sell but needs-be....
 22.
No it isn't, get yourself one because these offers won't be around much longer. Can't begin to say how happy I am with my purchase, having waited 18 years to resolve my Spector craving....should have dealt with it long ago. Silly boy! Mike
Better late than never Mike..... though I knew that night when you played a few of mine that it wouldn't be long...
 23.
I think you're supposed to get the bit of the Schaller locks that attach to the strap too. I got them. He did say that they didn't keep them on the basses because people steal them thoigh. However, I don't think you get them on Rebops. I noticed that Cetera's Rebop 4 (when I was repacking it) that it just has ordinary strap buttons. I want a LX4 or Rebop, but 2 Spectors within 2 weeks is a little excessive for me
It's not excessive.... it's called Spector GAS and I'm its biggest victim! lol! Join me won't you?! No Schaller pins on my ReBop?! Ah well, I'm sure at the price I paid for it my budget can stretch to a pack of new Schallers...
 24. I have 37 basses & 7 electrics..... I don't consider it a problem.... and I love every one of them.
