Sold out pre-tour warm up show at Teignmouth Pavilion Theatre on Friday night with Leather & Lace.... great gig with best IEM sound I've ever had thanks to a fill-in last minute tech who really knew their stuff! Lots of compliments on the Spector/GK tones outfront too! All ready for our 'Bootleg Rock Show' theatre tour in May/June now 😎🎸🎶 Sat night I played with the function band at a fabulous private 40th bday gig in the grounds of an amazing old house in Stow On The Wold. We were well looked after, there was great food & drink, lots of well bred ladies and mucho audience singing and dancing 😃

Isn't that the band that Wendy sings for?! I had no idea you were her bassist! Will have to come and see you guys sometime!

I meant the OP of the discussion of the Skynyrd/Abba tracks

Nailed it. The OP post re: Sweet Home Alabama & Does Your Mother Know missed the point completely. I don't get why people seem to look for issues when they aren't there....

I went to a yacht rock/disco/west-coast gig by Joel Sarakula at Nells in West Kensington on Saturday night. Awesome!

Sitting, stroking cat on my lap and laughing creepily to myself..... heh heh.....

They're releasing a 9 string piccolo bass in a sick coloured mustard colour called the...... Poor Decision bass..... -
Rick Beato in conversation tonight at Bloomsbury Theatre, London...... then 'nu-Yacht Rock' artist Joel Sarakula on Saturday night at Nells in West Kensington.

To be honest, Sweet Home Alabama is one of those songs where I seldom see a cover band bassist actually play it correctly. They usually play it far too straight, lacking the swing, pushes etc... I can't stand Mr Brightside, Sex On Fire or Oasis..... hate those tunes/bands. Overplayed nonsense for the chav brigade.... so it doesn't matter about the basslines as the songs themselves make me heave.

He's supporting Billy Joel at Hyde Park. Hopefully Todd Rundgren (support on his solo show) will be on the bill too. I'm working that show so would be great to tick a few off my bucket list in one go! -
Hoping this isn't a metaphor like clown's pocket or wizard's sleeve..... 🤣😂

I'm heading out on a 19 date tour of UK theatres shortly with my theatre band 'Leather & Lace', under the banner of 'The Bootleg Rock Show' which means with extra 'production' (big screens, lasers, pyro etc)! Can't wait It's all through May and into June. Would be great to see any of you who fancy attending! https://www.leatherandlaceshow.com/ Gig list and ticket links

It should be an EMG BTS circuit inside, so you have passive pickups with an active circuit. Upgrading the pickups to full active EMGs is something I tend to do, but if you're happy with the Hz pickups why bother, as you say?! It's worth flicking the two tiny mini switches on the BTS into each combination of 'off' and 'on' to see which sound you prefer. I, and many others, like having both switches 'on' for a more biting Spector tone, but playing dub/reggae etc you may find a different combination preferable. Enjoy experimenting!
