  2. Stunning original USA Peavey 'Rudy Sarzo' Signature bass guitar from early 1990's for sale... 34" scale neck, 24 fret active monster! All maple neck thru with purple heart stringers. Ebony fret board with Snake Eye dot markers. Dual Peavey passive soapbar pickups made by Bartolini. Peavey "Dyna Bass" preamp. Volume, blend w detent, bass, mid, treble boost / cut w detent. Active / Passive toggle switch. In passive mode the treble pot acts as a regular tone control would on a passive bass. Comes with original Peavey hard shell case. Excellent used condition with amazing quality craftsmanship and construction. The story goes that years ago, Rudy Sarzo was in a recording studio and fell in love with an Alembic bass that belonged to the engineer there. After trying several times unsuccessfully to get the engineer to sell him the bass, Sarzo went to Peavey and had them recreate the features he liked on the Alembic. The result of Peavey's efforts was the Sarzo model bass and although it was only produced from the late 80's - until the early 90's, it remained the flagship bass from Peavey until the introduction of the Cirrus line of basses. One flick of a toggle switch and you're in passive mode, where the bass rumbles like an old P-bass or Stingray. The next, you're in active, punchy heaven! These are now extremely rare basses and infrequently come up for sale, and this example is about as good as they get. Similar to classic Aria SB basses in feel and construction. This is an extremely cool classic late eighties, early nineties bass. Would be perfect for any bassist in a classic rock band! if you're not a fan of 'signature' basses don't fret... his signature is very small and the average punter won't see it or know 😉 Collection from Sandhurst/Camberley area or will ship securely at cost with courier of your choice. Payment by bank transfer or Paypal (you pay fees). Please see my extensive postive feedback thread for assurance of a clean, honest transaction.
  3. One man's cool is another's uncool. Someone who thinks it's uncool might not be someone whose opinion you value anyway... Do what you want. It's all in HOW you wear it....

  8. Watched it last night. As you say, lots of swagger....! Awful solo and bass destruction by Mike but his backing vocals were awesome and a huge part of the band. Their secret weapon...
  9. Wonderful stuff! I'll start the gear list. Please copy the info below and add your own onto the thread: 1) Cetera - Charvel 3B, ESP Surveyor '87, Fender FSR PJ Precision, Hamer Impact, Italia Imola, Spector NS2, Spector Euro, Spector EuroX (Spectorbird), Spector Pulse II, Gallien Krueger 400RB & Legacy800, GenzBenz Neox 2x12
  10. I love me some pointy headstock/garish coloured rock basses.... and they're getting harder to find. Every so often something cool will pop up though... and here are two such beauties that I recently purchased at ridiculously cheap prices (i.e. both for less than the usual price of one!): A thru neck 1986 Charvel Model 3B, with upgraded Seymour Duncan PJ pickups and a detuner: and a 2021 ESP Ltd 'Surveyor '87' in rainbow crackle finish, again with Seymour Duncan PJ pickups:
  11. In no particular order, the following. All have beautiful and thoughtful lyrics.... and the track by the wonderful 'Lake' has some lovely bass playing throughout by Martin Tiefensee....
  12. Same as always. School in Addlestone.
  13. Yes, just firming up a date. Hopefully will be announced very shortly!
  14. Well that sounds like a store you'd pop into once.... think it looks nice then exclaim "I'm not paying THAT much!" and leave, never to return... The article also references Fender opening a flagship store in Tokyo. I guess they don't need one here as most guitar stores have boring walls full of their gear anyway...
  15. Long Train Running was sung by Tom Johnston in 1973, not Michael McDonald - who didn't join the Doobies until 1976.
  16. Sadly I'm a lot less tempted to buy from a European seller as a result of Brexsh*t. Whereas I may have taken a chance on a bass before, I now have to REALLY want it and the price has to be HUGELY competitive in order for me to even think about it...
  17. Looks OK to me. Does the job but nothing flashy. It's a shop website so as long as it's up to date stock wise then job done. Those who don't like Bass Direct will probably dislike it as a natural response regardless....
  18. Nice!! I LOVE Young Gun Silver Fox! Had no idea they'd done this.... As an aside, their live bassist Dave is now the new Pretenders bassist..... 😎
  19. I'm still loving mine! Only thing I will do is move the strap buttons for a better balance on the strap. I notice that Nikki had his rear button nearer the top rear corner so I may try that first...
  20. I love classic mid 70's - early 80's Rush, particularly A Farewell To Kings album and the live 'Exit Stage Left'. The music, arrangements and production had so much space in them. The later 80's stuff left me cold, too clinical and sterile with too much keys... Seen them 4 times live and they were always superb. I love watching & listening to Geddy, he's an amazing player but I have no desire to play like him. Same can be said of Jaco, Mark King and many others who I can appreciate but don't appeal to me stylistically...
