  1. Always loved that colour combo. Pure class. Here are some of mine... 2 x Kramer Spector NS2A's: Kramer Spector NS2 & Spector Euro 'Ian Hill': 3 x Fernandes 'Spectorbirds': Aria Cardinal Series 'Black & Gold': Pedulla Buzz: Yamaha BB3000:
  2. Saturday night was Scorpions/Extreme at Wembley Arena. Haven't see Scorpions in many years so he was lovely to see them on what could end up being their final tour. Singer Klaus Meine is now 76 after all! Extreme were rifftastic, as to be expected.... and bassist Pat Badger played a blinder with a great bass tone. Scorpions were the consummate professional entertainers and really seemed to be enjoying themselves which was lovely to see. Friday night was supposedly Winger's final UK show, at Islington Assembly Hall. A great gig and as it was potentially the last chance to link up I managed to get together with Kip Winger beforehand to get him to sign some of the 'Winger' basses from my collection. Lovely chap.... he even allowed me to get up on the stage and try out his Rickenspector/Spectorbacker! 🎸
  3. Nope, different smaller venue.
  4. "Ever feel like you've been cheated?"
  5. You need to try both, very different feel..... Rebop has a wider, flatter neck.... and likely more neck dive.
  6. Probably around 9 months... I try to rotate them but some are less used than others.
  7. The sunburst 70's Classic P...... and for PJ it would be the FSR with John East.
  8. Sure!
  9. As I have just one wife with my almost 100 basses I guess I must be very lucky! 🤣
  10. In cases in storage. I rotate them and have just a few at home at any one time.
  11. Yeah, the latter option sounds doable... 😉🤣👍
  12. Or at least a bigger storage unit! 🤣
  13. Sadly I only have 4 guitar stands! lol!
  14. Love that roadworn looking PJ in the middle!
  15. It was getting increasingly unlikely I'd ever take it out to gig so I thought best to liquidate it before the bubble bursts and use the money for some big family holidays. I still have a fretless Wal Mk1 though
  16. A lovely sunny day for a pic or two! Left to right: Mex Fender P (upgraded with Seymour Duncans, Badass & Mirror scratchplate), Jap Fender 70RI Phil Lynott, Jap Fender 62RI (with flats) & Squier 40th Anniversary P. Left to right: Mex Fender FSR PJ (with upgraded John East pre and Pearl scratchplate), Mex Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass Special 'Duff McKagan' sig, Jap Fender Jazz Bass Special & Jap Fender 70's Classic RI Precision.
  17. Nah, though when I quit/die there's gonna be one helluva sale! Bass shops in general bore me as I have a better selection! lol! 🤣
  18. Just logging all my gear and realised I now have 87 basses and 10 guitars. 😲 Should I buy 3 more basses to hit the magic 100 total? Or sell the 10 guitars and concentrate on basses only? 🤔 First world problems and all that jazz.... 🤣
  19. Having once played in a hugely successful tribute for 25 years, I'd say that it's all about 'attention to detail' - otherwise you are just a covers band, concentrating on one act. While, obviously, the members of a tribute band are going to have different body sizes/shapes and looks they should at least ATTEMPT to dress/present themselves close to the artist they are tributing so they are are recognisable. Again, while the instrument being played doesn't have to be EXACTLY the same (i.e. not a 62 P bass.... just a normal p bass, pref in same colour) it should be recognisable as the same shape/type as the original where possible. Musically, songs should be played/performed like the classic album/famous live version.... and 'between song banter' should also be familiar/in style of. It goes without saying (I would hope) that reproducing the musical sound/texture/tones/character is the overall priority that sets a proper tribute apart as an accurate and faithful recreation.
  20. Glad I got out and sold mine for £11k 6 months ago
  21. Semitone is fine and normal.
  22. Both pickups on. Low action and dig in hard with fingers or plectrum. You'd need a Sansamp or similar to get the growl though.
  23. 5 string USA model: https://reverb.com/item/82077753-spector-usa-custom-shop-ltd-5-string-doug-wimbish-true-champagne-gloss 4 string USA model: https://reverb.com/uk/item/82183825-spector-usa-custom-shop-ltd-4-string-doug-wimbish-true-champagne-gloss I quite like that colour. Spector just need to release a 'pearl' white (affordable) Euro 'Rachel Bolan' sig model now......
  24. Let me know if this doesn't go to Jimbobothy.
